Don't be too hard on yourself or the kid.:-|
Comparing what you did (or not did) to try to figure out their judging scheme is useless because most likely
every interviewer made their decision base solely on FIRST IMPRESSION within the first few minutes.
Nobody can objectively compare ~3000 applicants in 2-3 days. Interviews are conducted in parallel by many interviews at the same time. Each interviewer will likely has to go through 30-40 interviews per day (5-6 interviews per hour for 6 hours straight).
By the time an interviewer gets to the third hour, do you think she can still tell who did better: the second kid she interviewed OR the one sitting in front of her right now?
If you kid happens to 'remind' the interviewer of a troublesome kid she had last term (or you remind her of a troublesome parent), she will probably give your kid a lower score despite that your kid answered all the questions correctly and sang a beautiful song.
Interviews are and will always be subjective. That's just life. |
