Hello!

My little boy is at 1G.  Anyone wants to share their view for the 1st week?

I only accompanied with my son for the first 3 days so I let him used the school bus to school from the first day. That means he'd arrive earlier at school and I met him at 1pm.  I was surprised that he settled down very well.  When he saw me at the classroom he gave me a sweet smile and continued to play with the classmates.  I asked the teacher whether he had cried and she said he behaved very well.

The only thing is - the arrangement of the school is not very good.  First of all, they don't let the students with the parents go into the school until 1pm therefore there're lots of people waiting outside.  Luckily it's not too hot!  Secondly, the teacher didn't mark the attendance at the biginning to make sure all the children are at the right classroom - because there're two children getting to a wrong place in my son's class and found out at the end of the lesson!  Thirdly, the teacher only distributed one thing to the parents each time, e.g. collecting the money for school bag, distributing the schoolbags, books, circular, handbook, assignment book ..... after all it's snacks time and then dismissed.  The children were only playing toys during the lesson for the first 2 days. I think it's waste of time!  They should let the parents join the class to play games, singing & dancing but now only standing behind the children and waiting to collect different things from the teachers.

我個人認為第 1 天是比較亂 , d 時間用晒來派書, 講吓 memo 紙 , 看,不到小朋友真正上堂反應 , 是否適應情況 . 到了第 2 天 , 就覺得好好多, 因第 1 日已攪好晒什項 . 不知道以往是否咁安排 ??

It seems to be getting much better now into the second week of school. We really cannot expect any normal class session during the 1st week of school as the kids are not familiar with the environment yet, also with so many parents in class, it could be quite disturbing.

I'm glad that my girl seems to be enjoying school so far!

yes , 第 2 個星期 , 家長不可在 class room , 情況好好多 . 老師可跟小朋友正式學習 , 我都希望女兒夾得到 2個老師 .

My daugther's class has 3 teachers, may be it's becauase of the big class size (28 ppl). My girl came back from school singings songs she has learnt, and she always mention about her teachers

In normal case, the classroom should only has 2 teachers. If it has 3 teachers, either one teacher will leave or one of the teacher is trainee. As I know some teachers left in last school term.

Yes, I think the Indian teacher is a trainee. She just joined the school this year. She seems to be very nice and caring.

My son is attending the afternoon class. For the 1st week, he would take a nap after school. But now he won't sleep until 10pm. I'm worrying he'll be too tired. It seems that he enjoys the school life so much, he always finished the snacks and tell me something happened in the class. How about your kid?

我的小朋友亦是 pm 班 , 她 8:30am 起床 , 有時在返學搭車時會 sleep 約 20 min .而放學回家時坐車又睡約 20min . 返到家 , 有時會再睡 1 hour ,有時就唔睡覺 . 她是晚上 around 10 :30 -
11:00 sleep . 因今個星期才正式返 3 -1/2 hour , 我都怕佢係時間上要調較下
我問佢返學是否好玩 , 佢 say 好玩 . 成日話佢自己無 cry ,其他小朋友都有哭 .

After studying in TAYSF for 1 month, my boy enjoys his school life so much. He was not willing to speak English before eventhough our helper only speaks English. But now he always speaks English, sometimes single words and sometimes simple sentence. It seems that although the English teachers are not western people, but the atmosphere can help to encourage the kids.
