Abacus in CWB is definitely too far & inconvenient to you. If you don't drive, you may at least need to take 3-4 public transportations to get there (except taxi). Also, there might not be any school bus arrangement available for this route. (same as for Sheungwan). Even if there is, get prepared the travelling will be more than 1.5 hours for each journey.

Tsingyi is much more convenient. My friend lived in Tokwawan & her daughter studied in Tsingyi ESF KG. The school bus took about 1 hour to get there.

FYI. The way for going Abacus is :

1. By bus (#26)
From Hunghom to Ngauchiwan (outside the NCW market).

2. By bus (#91)
From NCW to Mang Kung Uk (the bus stops opposite to Abacus).

P.S. Taking two times of bus is the way for taking least transports but it will take very long to get there. If you want to go there faster, you may need to take Green minibus #11 from NCW to Clearwater Bay, then change #91 or taxi somewhere along Clearwater Bay Road to Abacus.

My kid studied in Abacus, that's why I'm quite familar with the transportations there. My kid is in primary now.

There is no catchment area for ESF KGs, I think you may apply both Sheungwan & Tsingyi. Kids from ESF KGs belong to Category 2 in their priority list.

No. As long as I know, kids from ESF KGs are most likely be offered an interview for ESF primary. But it would be more difficult for "Chinese kids" from other KGs to get an interview. Also, it all depends on the no. of applicants in your school zone.

Other moms pls correct me if I'm wrong.

My kid went to RCHK.

Dear Saturn,

yes an interview will be provided to the kid of ESF KG. According tothe principle, she explained that the interview is only to see if thekid is capable to attend the class in English and nothing more thanthat.  Most of the kids from ESF KG will go straightly to the Primaryschool... (I hope).

In fact there are only 3 KG with as far as I know only max 8 classesof  K2.  So places in primary school can easily take up all.  Thenumber of Cat.2 student is only a few, so the principle said about 99%of the student can be admitted.

How is RCHK, is it good, I am very much interested and this is also agood choice in fact for Chinese student.  Would that be somehow like 弘立than ESF?

Dear Kenivy : to travel 2 hours a day to go for school would be too much for a 3-year-old kid...  I try if I have the telephone no.# of the school bus company (冠忠).  So you can check.  But it is really too... far away.  Even we drive, it would take an hour to go....
