ICQM 和CPS 都收小兒入讀小學, 但不知如何抉擇, 似乎各有特色, 有兩校無家長可分享心得, 如教學方法, 德育, 課程, 課外活動等. 謝謝.

Dear Fenny,

My son is now studying in ICQM in G1.  I find the school techers very patient and kind.  You can see they are all devoted to teaching.  The medium of instruction in ICQM is Chinese mainly(except English and Mathematics) and the homework load is not heavy.  There are eight lessons per week relating to music as well.

It all depends on how you value one school.  If you prefer more homework and dictation, ICQM is not suitable.  If your son is not that interested in music, it may not be so satisfying as you may have to push the kid quite a lot in practising.  Otherwise than that, you would find ICQM a good place for kids.

I have little idea on CPS but I have overheard that there are quite a number of NET teacher and the overall comment is also good.  I did not consider CPS because of the expensive school fee.

Wish you good luck with the school choice.

ICQM has a strong Christian background vs CPS. ICQM is a local school with a very good music enviroment vs CPS.
CPS is more like a (half )IS with strong english background vs ICQM.

Both school are very different and what is your expectation in your son.

I personally think that students come out from ICQM have good believe and spirit in life.

Agree except that CPS is not a school with strong English background, it is a Chinese private local primary school using activity approach.

Thanks a lot! I do hope my son has strong faith whereas at the same time in "non-traditional" type of education.

Does ICQM adopt activity-based approach as well? I am not sure whether my son has that strong interests in music and if not, he may find it difficult to catch up with the musical training in ICQM on top of other homework. How about the volume of homework? Is it heavy loaded?

ICQM 採取半傳統半活動的教學模式，小朋友都開心上學，小兒今年小二，功課量不算多，每天平均約兩、三樣，另外約一至兩星期會有默書或評估。由於音樂科在 ICQM 屬主要科，堂數與中、英、數相約，因此如小朋友對音樂沒有興趣，可能會感到有點吃力。

小兒學鋼琴，學校要求學生分別須在 G.2、G.6 和 G.9 達到鋼琴二級、五級和八級，小兒今年小二將於暑假後考二級，當然個別同學的進度會有不同，有同班同學將考五級。

ICQM use Chinese to teach most of the subjects? except English and Maths! But I have checked the web site of Education dept, ICQM report they use ENGLISH as the medium of instruction. ICQM are cheating!!

請問, CPS是中文小學除小班教學外, NET又不多. Why 其學費比PLKCKY (蔡繼有)還貴?
大家都是私校, 都是小班教學, 亦都是活動教學, CKY因大部分用NET教English & Maths, 當然成本高些, 但學費仍比CPS便宜.

雖然我係未來9月CPS小一家長, 但呢個問題我都未識答.

(NET又不多), 幾多算是多??

我地選校原因, 校舍簡潔光猛, 校外是林蔭路之盡頭空氣清新(因九龍塘好多學校都係天橋底/大路旁), 有自己飯堂, 呢D係睇得到既外在因素, 當然聽過簡介會, 好buy學校理念方向, 但實質既仲未試過未能俾意見, 或者讀緊既媽咪講講. 另有直資中學, 學費平d.

蔡繼有都有去睇過, 不過知道校舍要走黎走去就無再考慮了.
