我上年都係考慮呢兩間，最後揀左KCIS
問過幾個小朋友讀緊的家長，都話KCIS好好，
加上我報左VICTORIA收到封INTERVIEW信，大意話屋企母語係廣東話的不適宜讀英普班，再聽埋我老公個客話佢個仔讀VICTORIA英普班要加錢…

tsc, I think these 2 school are not quite the same. KCIS is a UK curric. int'l sch. Victoria is a HK style int'l sch. To me, both are good. To decide which to go to all depends on the parents choices in the kid's schooling path. Surely, the chinese standard in Victoria will be higher because of the heavier workload. My kid goes to KCIS and the deeper chinese training becomes part of my home duty.

你小朋友讀緊k幾?我個女下年先入k1，現在在kcs 讀n1，我暫時打算俾佢在KCIS讀到K3再入本地學校，不過都有可能俾佢繼續讀KCIS小學。（我識得有個小朋友現在讀KCIS P1，佢爸爸話佢個女讀KCIS 令到d英文同普通話都好好，唔捨得俾個女入本地小學，所以直升KCIS P1)

Hi Hoeve.

My boy is also N1 in 蘇浙 and already applied KCIS + KCS for K1 on coming Sept. Nice to meet you here.

When 5 Yrs old, P1 of KCIS is full day. Do you know whether they have half day class like KCIS Kinder. I don't want to take full day english class and give up local class. Could you share your planning because I belive Chinese Charater is more difficult.

no need to pay extra for Victoria (eng/put) class.
i never try k&c so can't compare. but my daughter like victoria very much.

My girl is in N1A a.m. and next year KCIS a.m. class + KCS p.m. class.
I've asked the teacher last yeat when I go to expo organized by the parent magazine. She told me that there is one class for children who plan to go to local primary (half day KCIS K3). She said last year have 17 children go to KCIS+KCS.

Totally agree,
I've been to Victoria's party last year and find there environment and teacher is quite good. The game is creative too. That's why I've applied Victoria last year.

Hello hoeve,
my kid is in P1 class too, same as the kid you know. He started from K1 till now. Looks like you have also applied for Victoria. Honestly, if you want to go back to the local school system. You should keep to the local kindie instead. Int'l sch can help kids train up their eng level but not too much in their chinese level. My kid's mandarin is still so so and indeed I have to give extra work to brush him up (more mandarin learning and recognising words and reading at home)

Taking both the morning and afternoon class is a way to solve the problem but then it will burden your pocket and will dry up your kid's playtime at this young age.

Victoria is one of my choices before but then I prefer less homework style schooling so chosen KCIS finally.

What do you think ?

but I don't see a lot of good putonghua primary schools ...

若在香港選擇英、普教學的話，新加坡國際應該也是個不錯選擇。

Yes, i agree with you that their mandarin is just soso compare with their local system. The Chinese standard is quite easy at P. 1. But i know that for P. 2, they are using the text book likes traditional school P. 1, they also need to learn how to write, how to re-structure the sentence etc.

For the extra work at home, other than the Mandarin/Chinese, do you give the extra worksheets for English/Math?

hello lamsuetwai, nice to meet you too. My kid is in P1S, how about yours ?

I think poor chinese is a common problem though in int't sch. I am trying my best to help but doesn't want to join in any of the extra chinese classes. What about you ?

Other than chinese, I will also give suppl. eng and math at home, but not all the time, in the form of worksheet or books with funny games. Something interesting and colorful so he will not refuse.

Time is always not enough for my playful child so need to squeeze his limited time to finish my required work. At least, I find that his chinese is acceptable and can manage to read some simple story. Mandarin is another thing to tackle but I will do some listening at home at least once a week and learning together. I also heard that P2 classes use the P1 local text too. We'll see how it's like next year.

How do you like this school so far ? Please share.

本人有子女現分別在kcis及victoria讀(不想解釋為何分開了兩間學校)
