Re: Giving up Marymount for DGJS?
Rare and happy problem, though a tough decision. If it were a choice between DGJS and St Paul Convent, I would not bother at all. If it were between DGJS and SSGC, I would incline to DGJS a little bit too. But it's DGJS and MPS. Hm....
Other things being equal, it all boils down to the choice between a intense childhood full of achievements and a vivacious childhood full of harmony. I haven't met a preschooler who perfectly fits the prototypical description of pupils of both schools. It always takes some time for gearing in.
Unless you are well-informed of both schools' education or you are affiliated with them to judge your daughter's fit-in, I am inclined to DGJS on the ground that she is CHOSEN instead of being merely allocated. From DGJS's perspective, she has the potential and character as well as a resourceful family to cope with the school life there.
Call me eccentric. I always put fame aside. Hope you are not offended by my guessing your background. Being accepted by both schools, I believe your family is comparatively high along socioeconomic scale. At primary school stage, a high achiever may not be imperative for your girl. But if you are obsessed with a high achiever, I'm here to back your choice of DGJS. |
