All subjects teaching in MCS are in English except Chinese from P.1. For St. Mary, all subjects teaching in English except Chinese from P.4. It depends on what you want.

昨日剛與朋友談起,她女兒現在St Mary讀p6,她說自p4已有幾個頭數名同學轉到MCS,最主要原因是可以讀少兩科,因一般名校/英小,都只是中/英/數/常or GS or Science,但St Mary自小四起,除GS還有Science+Geography,都咪話唔辛苦

今年選校我便考慮過呢個問題，原本偏向揀st mary，因為它一條龍、比較平民化，最終揀左maryknoll，因為它嘅位多Ｄ，係第一輪maryknoll有93個位，而st mary有64個位，好似maryknoll机會大Ｄ，而最後亦比個女得左，感謝天主！

I have friends' daughters studying in these 2 schools. Both agree the English standard and environment in MCS is far better.

But the English standard/ environment should not be the only consideration in choosing a school for a child.

Can any parents can share (either MCS or St Mary):

Are they learning happy in the schools?
Did the schools only concentrate on the outstanding students?
How the teachers help the lower standard students?
Besides, academic, how the school develops the students?

各位:

mcs 中、小學各有5班, 如果得8成能入中學, 即是說就算成績滿意能升班, 到小六時都要成績係頭8成先可以入到中學是不是呢?

Heard MCS is band 1 head, so more hard and parent also need give more time.
St. Mary is band 1 tail, so not much hard than MCS.
is it ??

I don't think St. Maty is in "band 1 tail". Also, if you want to get a higher position in class/ form, the girls need to work very hard. I have a friend who told me that her girl goes to tuition centre every day and even in summer holiday, but still cannot get the top position.

Firstly, as some parents said that MCS always asked them to raise fund for school building works. St. Mary does not have such case.
Secondly, one of my friend's daughter quit MCS because great pressure. My friend is a teacher in MCS.

That's why science is a bit weak for MCS students. Only arts is strong.
