Why do you say so?  ESF primary schools are more or less of the same standard.  SJS has more local Chinese.

I don't know whether SJS is the best but according to my observation and some articles I came across, I can tell something good about SJS:

1. Many parents are University staff or professionals
2. Many SJS students are attending after school classes or hiring private tutors
3. SJS is closely related to Shatin College
4. My son and his classmates can speak English like native speakers
5. Local Chinese students are more obedient, so I don't think this is a bad thing to have more Chinese students in SJS.
6. My son always tells me the rules he must follow
7. My son loves all his teachers

After saying all these things, I sincerely hope that other ESF parents can also tell us more good things about any ESF schools.

ESF schools are located at different catchment areas in Hong Kong, while various local universities are also like these. It's said that many university professors' chidren are studying in ESF schools according to their living places. If so, the cultural and family background of ESF students is good and the children are quality.

If we concentrate on seeing SJS under this topic, parents with kids there may tell us something more about this school and the students.   :

I want to clarify a point in here, even parents are professionals, or/and good family background, it doesn't mean that their children have discipline or/and well-behaved.

In ESF primary, the kids are quite disciplined, this is different from ESF kinder.  In kinder, kids are free to play, but in primary, they have to behave better as the class size is larger (30), teachers are stricter.  I feel that in fact UK schools have strict discipline, the UK culture is quite different from US.  But not sure about secondary.

SJS has more Chinese, so maybe local parents monitor more closely on the kids' academic results.  In some other ESF primary, there are more western or other asian kids, my daughter told us things about other cultures which we may not know, so this is another important and valuable aspect.  Besides, the school encourage every kid to participate a lot in sports and music, so generally the kids have quite a balanced school life.
