I have heard that DBS will give preference to DPS graduates and will reserve 20 to 25 quota for DPS boys! There are only 2 classes for each form in DPS and the no. of boys are around 40 sth.! .... not sure if the above is true!

My friend's son got DPS offer with 20 marks and she told me that some of her son's classmates with 20 marks cannot get the offer. So, I think 20 marks is the min. !

A DPS parent has told me that the boy/girl ratio is around 3:1 (i.e. around 40sth boys + 20sth girls for each form) as more boys will apply for DPS. So, if DBS will really reserve some place for DPS, i think only half of the boys will get the place!

我囡囡明年９月入讀ＤＰＳ，但我對呢間學校唔係太清楚，請問有冇讀緊ＤＰＳ家長可分享，例如升中情況，學校老師，另外我仲想問下中文科是否以普通話上堂，而其他科是否以英文上課，希望有家長可幫手

Only top 10 boys can get in DBS Secondary.
Therefore, DPS starts to accept girls.

Chinese Class is not taught by Mandrain.

My girl has 20 marks too, but can't get in. :-|

DPS is going to implement Mandarin as the medium of chinese language in 2007, but they will keep the Social studies to be taught by Cantonese.

If DBS rejects my son, I will choose either DPS or Choi Kai Yau (2nd interview tomorrow). Anyway, I will go to DPS for registration tomorrow. May I know the number of your point. My son has 25 points. Just wonder if 25 pt is in lucky draw.

He is studing in CCKG (k3).

You are lucky! My son's schoolmates were rejected with 20 and 15 marks. Since DPS will take Mandarin as teaching language, I will consider DPS now if rejected by DBSPD. I take CKY as my 2nd choice too because i don't need to worry the secondary in future and I have great interests in the IB programme. However, if it is easy to be offerred a Secondary place at CKY, I certainly will choose DPS. Lets see. CKY is still working with the shortlist, don't worry.

有Ｄ問題想請教你，你知唔知ＤＰＳ小朋友會否讀得好辛苦，學校老師教小朋友會嚴肅ｏｒ較輕鬆

另外聽講ＩＢ將會成為新催勢，其實我較喜歡學校設有靈活學制（ＩＢ�ＨＫ考試都有ｅｇ．培僑，浸小），因到現在我都不太清楚邊樣會適合香港同我Ｄ小朋友

I just know DPS is not using Mandrain as media currently. May be it is going to change in 2007.

I will not participate in the lucky draw. My girl has been accepted by SPCCPS. But I do like the school environment of DPS.

Yes, DPS is quite tough. As I heard, they also have to work out the project before examination, less time to make revision for exam. When my cousins studied in DGS, I found they involved lots of projects, drama & other activities during exam period. This may be the teaching tradition for this kind of school.
As for IB, I don't know well in detail. As far as I know, IB standard is higher and the acadamic results of all IB students in the world are ranked together. Therefore, IB is well recognised by all esteemed overseas universities. My neighbour's son from DBS also went to Shatin Li Po Chun?? for studying IB before further their studies in USA Uni in ten years ago. I also got to know from newspaper a month ago that 8 students(maybe F.6) from DBS gave up studying F.6 at DBS but studying IB at other school. So DBS announced they will take IB in 2010?? for F.6&7 and may accept girl and students from other asian countries for their IB class.
Correct me if I am wrong.

You are absolutely right. True IB is really powerful but should be coupled with excellent intake and a multi-cultural environment. However, some schools in Hong Kong only steal the IB brand but without getting the authorization from the IBO. Niether do they have a multi-cultural environment, nor do they recruit enough registered IB teachers. They are so-called pirate IB school in HK.
