may I know why you chose Germany for your girl?
Why you didnot chose other 英語國家? As I know, most students go to South America or North Europe. Is there easier to take a seat for student in HK?
你提議完中三後去交流碓是較佳時機, 但以舊制中三程度, 它日返港後能否接上新制334的中四課程呢? 太多問題要探究清楚, 以免真的"半天吊", 應由哪裡開始查詢及要注意什麼呢?

My daughter will go to Germany this Saturday through AFS. At first , my daughter insists not to go because she want to study F6 with her friends in Hong Kong.After her return they will not in the same class. But she changes her mind after the sharing of the old AFSer. She has contacted her host family by email and she is so eager to go now. She tries hard to learn German. I think she will have a good experience in the coming year. I am not afraid she will 半天吊 because the most important thing for life is not only academic results. She should have her target in life and then plan her way to achieve it rather than just follow the others.
Some parents also shared their experience of their kids. One case is that his son went to South America and then returned Hong Kong and studied in private school for F6 and F7. Because his attitude changed a lot and confident in himself, his result of AL is so good that he got the scholarship of MIT. Now he is studying in America.
Also, there are some cases that the principal of the foreign school recomended the students to go to University of Hong Kong directly.
But the objective of AFS is not for this. Through exchange program youth can have global vision and learn how to communcate with different culture. Moreover, they learn how to solve difficulties by themselves. Most of them can speak the 3rd language within 3 months because this is the only way they can get involve in their new environment.
I an so happy that when I know my daughter's host parents are doctor and nurse. She has a host sister at a same age of 17. They are curious about Chinese culture and plan to Peking for exchange student 2007.

我好明白你的困難在於個女是最後一年會考生. 香港政府就只在乎於新制的大學銜接工作, 至於最後一年會考生重讀或等等問題的安排就還未諾實.
如果你的女兒思想都比較成熟, 而且又真的好想做交流生, 你可以待她完成中三後(一定要足15歲)到外國交流一年. 回來後, 還可以銜接334新制. 但必須要求AFS給你証明信(如果AFS收你個女做交流生), 連同學生(一定要由學生寫, 父母加簽, 才有誠意)寫的一封信給校長, 請他留回一個中四學位給你回來再在原校繼續課程. 但記著: 要求校方以書面確認留位, 否則回來死無憑證.
