In my years (70's) in primary school, I don't think phonics is so emphasis as nowadays. However, the way teacher teaches English had apply the concept of how to make a word:
e.g. Sun + day = sunday; sunny; sunshine.
father, mother, brother... etc.
We are taught to remember the similar sound to combine into a word.
My unseen dictation is always good in my schooldays, .... however, those can study is not so good (lazzzzy girl).  |
