Swimming in YMCA is much more expensive than in Win Tin.... And also, your son just want to swim once a week... Be honest, swimming once per week is not enough... In my opinion, choosing a cheaper course is better in this case

Agree.

For my son, YMCA teachers are very good. My son learned swimming in other swimming club (Hoi Tin).....over 2 years but no much improvement. In Yaumatei YMCA for 2 years, he gets great improvement. I can see teachers using their hands correct my son's swimming action every lesson... that's I can't see in Hoi Tin before.

YMCA.....Good! Good! Good!

YMCA charges memeber for $850 / 10 lessons (50 mins). For non-member, it is $935. Whether it is lowered than Win Tin, it depends on the pool you choose. Some are as low as $720 / 8 lessons (1 hr). But I agree that YMCA is very good.

Could you give comment on the changing room of YMCA? Can the kids take shower there? Can boys use the ladies' changing room accompanied by mum? Thanks!

Yes, you must use the family changing room if you take TungTung to swim in the YMCA pool. I remember taking Daniel to their toddlers swimming lessons when he was only 20 months old. Believe it or not, he was denied access to the ladies' changing room. In the same way, baby girls are not allowed to use the men's changing room even accompanied by their dads.

swimmer exam is 75m ma.
Private teacher is me la. When I was young I am a life guard.

However my son don't listen to me.
My friend said Win Tin not bad ma. If I want to train him up, I need a 50M swimming pool. woo woo

學游水不是學大會或學場地的...你地為什麼不考慮教練的質素呢?

我對ymca無好感...我昨天看到一班ymca camp的小朋友去九龍公園上堂...兩個教練教二十多人..
第一:他們的教練九成係暑期工(好青春可愛!個女教練樣子亦真不賴);
第二:他們整堂只在最淺水的那個嬉水池玩樂...(衰過cheap cheap 黃x仙,毅x會,起碼他們都踢吓板,練習吓)
若然大家要求上水中托兒班, 我想, 這也可以...

另一個我對ymca無好感的地方是那個場地及考核system好有問題
場地方面:25米長的一米至米二深池
你們要子女學游泳為了什麼?相信一則是希望強身健體,二則是希望子女有朝一天跌了下水也不會出事吧?
個池d水淺成咁, 長度又得25米...你地認為如果小朋友有朝一日不幸跌落50米長, 水深過1.5米的泳池中,會怎樣?
係一個得25米的泳池裏俾你學識四式都無用啦...因為落到深水d的地方實死梗!所以ymca不會為學生報公開賽..費事出醜

另外, 個考試根本無用...(1) 在一個25米池來回泳一次50米和一次過游50米是不同的(因為到兩邊池邊實會蹬池邊出發或轉塘, 轉塘時又可以停下, 所以根本不足50米)
(2) 公開賽的比賽距離是25, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600..等...考75米是什麼一回事呢? 明顯是氹家長開心的伎倆啦.....再者, 在25米池來來回回游400米都不會是實際距離啦, 轉塘時會停吓, 根本不是連續游啦..

我相信ymca裏都有好教練, 但係, 信我, 學了基本的25米後, 應到標準池學游泳.

我贊成"求生"係學游水的其中一個主要原因, 如果小朋友唔係太高,1.2米都可以學踩水...

國際比賽是有分長池(50米)及短池(25米)的，25米都係國際標準賽道...

公開賽的比賽距離有50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m,3000m, 似乎冇25m同1600m的

ymca考75m,我估只係ymca定一個距離標準準則(因為組別好似分得幾仔細的)

其實游水除左係"學"之外, 家長都可以帶小朋友去泳池"玩"的,我估ymca部份學生, 在"標準池"都可以生存到啩

我想 day camp 既一節水上活動, 跟正式泳班係截然不同的, 不能相提並論吧.
