what's your comment on the company you introducted? are the teachers patient enough to teach? will it be bored or very effective to train up a kid?

There are really quite a lot of advertisement here...

My son will be joining the Shatin centre in July. I heard many good comments about their teaching quality from friends. They employ university graduates full time teachers and have more than 10 years experience in teaching abacus. They go into good schools like 靈糧堂及呂明才 for many years. The price for summer course is discounted also if you apply before 30/6. Why not go and visit during weekends and many kids are there.

Thanks for your valuable information. BTW, do you have any idea about 公文數 and 奧林匹克數? I daughter is going to study P1 after this summer and she foundation in math is not strong. which kind of teaching method you would recommend?

Dear chcheung,

I will recommend abacus if your daughter maths' foundation is not good. Many Kumon exercises are drill exercise. It is more flexible for parents who want their children to maths that is more difficult than school. (e.g. P.1 do P.2 maths). I will not recommend olympic maths if your daughter is scard of maths. I know a famous trainer, he told me olypmpic maths is only good for children who is hunger for maths and the maths in school cannot satisfy them. Otherwise, it's like training a normal swimmer to join olympic games! It's hell for student and teacher! However, many education centre just use the name 'olympic maths' to attract parents, they are just doing IQ questions or school maths!

thanks a lot for your analysis and sharing. I agreed with you. My daughter had joined Kumon when K2, but felt very bored and lost interest and attention quickly. Then, I will try abacus this summer for her. Thanks a bunch.
