【本報訊】家長及社會人士過分偏重學生的學業成績、學生能否出人頭地，甚至學校的設施配套不足，都成為中學生壓力來源。一項調查顯示，過半數學生認為自己是失敗者，近兩成人經常有自殺念頭。面對困難時，逾半受訪學生不會向老師求助。有社工建議，育統籌局應考慮將學生的精神健康指標納入評核學校組別（ Banding ）範圍，令學校更加關注學生的心理健康，而不只是學業成績。

循道理楊震社會服務處及油尖旺青少年綜合發展中心於去年十一月至本年六月期間，訪問油尖旺區內一千六百七十八名中一至中七學生。調查顯示，逾半受訪學生對功課量感吃不消，三成半學生認為學業是生命的全部。調查又發現，兩成半學生與人相處感到不愉快，接近兩成表示自己沒有能力處理困難，近四成半指出，在學校沒有寧靜及舒適的感覺

Those losers who want to kill themselves prove once again they are losers. If they cannot face the poor academic results and want to kill themselves, there are thousands other reasons for them to commit suicide when they grow older. If they don't die now, they will commit suicide later anyway. So, let them die if they really want to.

But, when we think over, parents are responsible. We can have better choices for our kids. Before we teach kids to succeed, we must teach them to love, primarily, themselves. If parents have not taught their kids love and fundamental values, the parents have not done their job properly. So, if the kids kill themselves, the parents are killer.

i completely agree with your comment: if the kids kill themselves, the parents are killer.... More parents often said their kids can absorb anythings whatever you give...... This a great pressure for a kid. Once, the kids pass one gate which set by you, then you expect them can do more , and more... How many kids can be top from hundred thousand kids. If you do your kid is the top....Congratulations!! you are lucky one

What kind of logic here?

Kids anxious about their score in Academic. So our dear EMB, add one more "心理健康 index" to score a school/student?

OOoops! Is it the way to solve the root cause?
