I would like to express my feelings & share my experience on 東華三院方樹泉幼兒園(北角海峰園) here:
1. I feel the communication between parents & teachers are very poor.
- One day, I phoned my son's class teacher, but she was not available to take my call at that moment, so I left a message to ask her to call me back. Finally, she called me back after 2 days.
- Another day, I forgot to inform school about my son's sick leave at 9am, but until 11am, no one in school called me to follow up the absence of my son.
2. I feel some of the teachers do not show their responsibility.
- One day, my son cried & refused to sleep in school. The teacher called my maid to bring him back to home, but my maid was very smart and said that Madam (i.e. myself) did not allow to do so. Since sleeping is part of school life in nursery, the teacher cannot encourage the child to avoid.
- Another case, my son was back to school after the X'mas holiday. He arrived school at 9am & I received a call from school in my office at 10am. They said my son was crying & losing control nearly & ask me to pick him up to home ASAP. I was very angry at that time & did not understand why this school could hanlde the kids in such way.
- One more case, I have paid HK$2xx.00 for buying some English story books in early of 2004, but due to some arguments between the school and the publisher, we did not receive the books finally & the
school promised to refund the money to us. But until now, I do not receive any message from the school about the refund. HK$200.00 is not a big amount, but I cannot accept the follow up for this case.

Also, I would like to tell you about my son's case here:
My son studied N2 (normal seat) in 方樹泉 in Nov 2003 & left this school in Jul 2004. He is studying N4 (I seat-兼收位) in another nursery. At the beginning, I did not tell 方樹泉 that my son just had assessment in Child Assessment Centre and was waiting for the report. But when I told the officer & teachers later that my son was confirmed as a late development child with weak attention, they began to label my son & showed that this school was not welcomed him.
During the 8 months in 方樹泉, my son was always in bad temper, cried, refused to sleep, did not have the meals well and did not co-operate with the teachers. I felt that he was always unhappy. I did not know how the teachers treated him in school since they did not allow me to have special 觀課.
But when he went to the new (i.e. current) nursery after 1 week, he could have meals by himself, he slept in school every afternoon, he followed most of the instructions from teachers. I believe 小朋友的直覺, he can feel who cares & loves him and who neglects & ignore him. Maybe my son feels 被重視 in the current nursery because the teachers are so kind to him & take care him with love (愛心), so he is willing to co-operate with them.
Thanks for your patience to read my message. Due to my experience, I will not recommend 東華三院方樹泉幼兒園.
