Do you mean a.m. primary or p.m. primary?
I chose a.m. section!
Yes! My girl is attending a.m. section. I have more time to take care of her homework assignment. She can take a good nap in the afternoon and can attend some extra-curricular activities like ballet and swimming in the afternoon.

Dear ononyoyo,

Since the comment for SH Primary (AM Section) is very tough for students, especially when compared with the pm section. I am also very concerned about the timing for arrange the extra-curricular activities for my daughter. Some rumor even said the teachers are not friendly at all. How about the curriculum ?

My girl is now studying in SH Kindergarten, am. It is a big headache for me to find a school with good reputation for her.

I found the English curriculum is tough.  But I really don't know much about the p.m. section. So I can't compare.  My girl is now attending P.2.  Starting from P.3, students need to take one more subject - Science which will be taught in English (of cousre with English textbooks).  I've told by some parents that it is difficult.
But I don't think the teachers are not friendly.  My daughter enjoys every single school day.  Last year, two experienced teachers, Miss Chan and Mrs. Ng, retired from school.  They had a ceremony of presenting souvenirs to them on the Graduation and Prize Giving Day.  Sister Teresa gave big hugs to the two teachers with tears in their eyes.  Many girls, including my girl, weeped at that moment.

My girl seldom complains her teacher.  Actually, she likes almost every teacher who teaches her!  Sometimes she said Miss x shouted in class.  I asked why.  My daughter would tell me that because her classmates were naughty.

I think I would choose am primary for her although everyone told me it is really hard to study in am, because she can join some activities in the afternoon, my daughter is studying pm kindergarten now, it is really not good to arrange time.

Did your daughter study K3 now? You mean we can choose either am or pm? Because I heard that if you join the lucky draw and choose pm, if you are failed, am will not reserve a seat for you, is it real?

Dear Vanessamom,

Yes, my daughter is studying in UK am now.

Have you sit in the meeting that hosted by Sister Wong (headmistress of pm section) in June ? She have given the hints that priorty will be offered to those who chose their school in the 1st and 2nd round. So, if you decide to apply the pm section, don't give up.

I think if you chose to participate in lucky draw and chose pm section, I don't think you can get the seat from am section. The headmistress is strongly not recommended to do that.

So, have you register in the am section ?

Dear vanessamom,

I have chosen "am" section since the time slot is suitable for my daughter to continue her activities after school. Upon your girl go to K3 in Sep, "am" section will host the meeting with all the K3 parents to introduce their curriculum. After the meeting, you are required to make the decision whether you want your girl to admit into am section within two weeks. No interview is required if you chose am section.

Another meeting will be hosted by the headmistress from pm section. She has given the hints that even you are required to participate in lucky draw, if you chose her school in 1st and 2nd round. You also stand a chance to enter pm section. Of course, she cannot say the priority will give to SHK student due to the lucky draw is hosted by the EMB. But the chance will be great if you are on waiting list.

Hope the above info. can ease your headache.

Dear Vanessmom,

If you want to try other private or DSS school, I can say that the K2 result is very very important. Most of the school need to view the children' performance on their K2 latest school report. So pls prepare well for your daughter's K2 performance in the class.

Not encounter much difficulties in K3 class. However, students need to write a Chinese sentence instead of single word. In order to well prepare the children to primary school, all the K3 students need to train as a primary students in the school. Teachers are not easy-going, they will point out the children' weakness part to parents.

AM section is more hard especially in English section, since they are using one level up on Enghlish books, ie P2 for P1 students.

My girl will apply SHK this yr.  As I am aimed to put her in SH Primary am, you sloved all my questions of rumous.

But do the girls in SHK choose am secton MUST go straight to the primary (no interview is needed)?

If yes, I must apply k2 & k3 again and again if my girl fail this year.

Dear hellolanlan,

If you really want to apply into SH am section, SHK will be your 1st choice in order to avoid any hassle interview when apply the primary school.

Just like my daughter, she has chosen the am section.  No interview is required.  Just simply sign on the form, then they will send you the application form to fill in. After a month, you need to go to their school to register and pay the fee. My registeration date is on 12th Nov. As such, you are not necessary to worry about the lucky draw result  as your girl has already secure a seat in a quite famous school. By then, you can also try your luck on other school like SPCC or DGS.

Admission to SHK will be on earliest of December.  As I know, they prefer to admit those "Big" girl.

My daughter is now 3, and she is gonna to apply k1 next month. If she fails this yr, I will try to apply next yr for k2. I'm keen to let her to study in SH am.

You need to write a letter to them, they will call you to have an interview. As I know, some of my girl's classmates (other kindergarten) is arranged to have an interview at the end of Nov.
