My daughter is only 15 months right now, but I want her to enroll N1 宏褔幼兒園.  What is different of the International class and general class?

I think International class is predominately taught in English. Students will also learn mandarin as well. Anglo-Chinese class gives the students opportunities to learn both Chinese and English. I picked the Anglo-Chinese class because I want my daughter to learn and recognise Chinese characters. I enrol her to the English class at the club house, because I like the English teacher there.

Thanks for your sharing.  How old of yr kid?  In my view, I'd like to pick the anglo-Chinese class too.  However, just heard from others that the international class is good as well.

in my home, I'm alway speak in Cantonese to my daugher, so I worried she can't adapt the international class

Hi emeraldlam,
My daughter is 32 months old now. I heard that parents who enroll their children to the International class are quite satisfied with the teachers and learning environment there. As for me, I think the Anglo-Chinese class is just fair. However, my daughter learns many new things at school which is quite impressive. I believe that the teachers are kind to the students and the school takes parents' comments seriously. My daughter is still learning to converse with others. She doesn't speak up when she is not at home.
I think you may have an interview with the teacher and discuss with the one in charge to see if International class is appropriate for your child or not. Nevertheless, you should speak with your daughter more in English for her to be prepared to enroll in the International class.

Hi Felicia & emeraldlam,
My daughter very enjoy her school life so far. She likes going to school. The teachers there may only use english talk to them.
My daughter is 35months now. As she is 18months, she started to join some playgroup which totally use english. At home, I may speak both English and Cantones.
emeraldlam, during the interview, the interviewer may use english to talk to you and ask you child some questions. I think they may require you child at least understand what she is asking. Also, she said that they expect parents can speak English only at home. So, if you want to enroll the international class, just like Felicia said you'll better speak more english to your child before the interview. But don't worry, you still have enough time because I enroll this school just in June this year.

Thanks for your sharing. Yes, I still have enough time for enroll the N1.  

any tips for interview?  Now, my daughter can only speak few words (Cantonese only).  I'm afraid when having the interview, she is not answer the interviewer

As for the N1 interview, I think it's quite simple and friendly. The teacher asked my daughter about her name and who took her to the interview. Then the teacher asked my daughter to do some matchings and to identify objects, etc. My daughter was very shy and usually did not speak up in front of strangers; however, she did quite well during the interview. I think it's really depends on the child's mood... And I always thought that nursery usually takes all the applicants unless the children are too young and/or difficult to control. Nursery needs tuition fees to survive afterall.

thanks.  I have submitted my application form, they asked me to pick morning session/ afternoon session. Also, I need to select the the international class/ Anglo-Chinese class?  The teachers said if I want to enroll the international class, as u said that I have to speak more English to my daugter.

During N1, any homework for our kids????

I am not so sure when should you submit the application form, you may call at 24322223 to find out more from the teacher there.
I remember that I took my daughter for interview when she was almost 2 years old. She is a 'Big B' ah.

I remember the N1 class will start from aug 06. the kids should be reached to 2 yrs old at that moment, otherswise, it may need to wait as 插班生

Please bear with me that I don't know how to type Chinese.
My maid and I took my daughter to the nursery for the interview. The teacher allowed my maid and I to be at the table with my daughter during the interview. The teacher asked my daughter the following questions:-
1. What is your name?
2. Who take you here? Who are sitting next to you?
3. How old are you?
The teacher then took out some kind of picture board and asked my daughter to identify objects, such as leaf, car, dog, etc. The teacher also asked my daughter to do some matching and puzzle --- those fit in shapes kind of matching/puzzle.
I remember that my daughter didn't do everything correctly the first time, however, she attempted and got it done eventually.
After that, the teacher gave a story book to my daughter to read and left the room. The head teacher then came in and spoke to me. She asked me what's my expectation of the child and the school, sth like that lar. Where did I hear about this school? She then toured me around the school.
Before we left the school, the teacher said bye bye to my daughter and my daughter waved back goodbye to  her. That is it.
My daughter was in a good mood that day, so things went smoothly.

my boy just gets into international from November. as his headteacher is a demanding lady,  i prefer my son study within straight rule in this kindergarten rather.
