first round may be difficult but those on waiting list (?most applicants) has very high chance of being admitted at a latter time.

Last year 700 applicants competes for 90 seats. This year the applicants should drop by 10% as predict by the Principal

The interview was not so demanding last year. It took about 10 minutes. The principal was nice and did not expect any "mechanic" or "artificial" response of the boys. She just prepared some pictures and asked the boys some questions about the pictures.

與同區既Raimondi, St. Louis比, St. Paul Boys' "較難"入, 同St. Paul Co-edu比就"較易"入.

This is your boy??? He looks smart....So, that's why he can be easily success into St.Paul Boys'.Ha ha....
Actually, I have a question about how's the different between Raimondi n St. Louis??? (which I know you are the expert...)
I know that they've got history from Raimondi, but how's St.Louis??? It seems that they are quite showing that they are using English n Mandarin as a main language in school???

龍年效應名牌直小報讀增一成
　　(星島日報報道)受龍年效應適齡入讀小一學生增加影響，今年報讀直資名校人數急升。昨截止遞交小一入學申請的聖保羅書院小學，申請報讀小一人數達七百六十人，比去年多逾一成，平均五人爭一個學額。而將軍澳真道書院上周六截止申請，亦收到逾九百封申請信，初步較去年增加一成，校長預計連同郵遞申請，將高達一千一百份申請。

　　兩年前轉做直資的聖保羅書院小學，昨日截止遞交小一入學申請表。校長陳慕珍表示，該校至昨午四時半截止遞表，連日來共收到逾七百六十份表格，相比去年的六百八十份，多出一成。該校共開五班，約收生一百五十名，平均五個人爭一個小一學位。

　　陳慕珍校長分析，申請人數增多，或許與龍年效應有關，令今年適齡升讀小一人數上升。她相信另一原因是該校一向口碑不錯，加上學校的教學質素，深受家長支持。由十月三日起，該校會用整整一個月面見學生。

　　陳校長強調該校收生是「面見」，而非「面試」，因為不是考核學生，而是透過面見溝通，觀察學生的應對及專注力。

　　香港華人基督教聯會真道書院今年加開至十班小一，提供近三百個小一學額。校長丘日謙表示，該校現時已收到九百封申請信，但總數仍在點算當中，最遲明日會有申請總數。

　　丘校長預計，今年會有一千一百人申請該校小一，比去年的八百名，人數將激增兩成七。屆時將會出現四人爭一學位的情況。對於申請人數增加，他指學校無做宣傳，亦無賣廣告，不知原因何在，或許真的與龍年效應有關。

　　拔萃男書院附屬小學昨日則截止派表，校長羅錦麗表示，已派出逾千份申請表，再加上家長可於網上下載表格，未有確實數字。新小拔將安排於本月二十一至二十六日接受遞交申請表。

Paul Boys' got ONE round interview only, the principal will interview the child only, no interview for parents.

Dear All,

My experience that the questions in the interivew was not so difficult last year. Besides, the principal was so nice and friendly. She was very patient to wait for the candidate's answers. Don't worry too much. According to the hearsay information, parents had better to remind the boy courtesy. As parents were arranged to sit outside the principal's office where the interview held, all of you could know what happened inside. In fact, it was a great temptation to offer your son a hand. However, as somebody used to share in this platform, it did only bad than good to your son finally. Of course, I think the attendance of both the parents may give the principal a better impression. As observed, most of the candidates were escorted by their mother and father last year. Good luck!
