大學就應該在外國讀，首選英國。

如果係你阿仔，你會幾時開始送佢過去?初中? O-level or A-level?

初中, 中一或二,

小女今年先走 (中三), 考好學校又少位, 去讀又要係年令追到晒o level的程度，　都好有難度！　呀二三四我會再早ｄｄ　送佢去讀　！

唔捨得係有，　但英國好快有　ｈａｌｆ　ｂｒｅａｋ　同　ｔｅｒｍ　ｂｒｅａｋ，　至長個段都係分開兩個幾月，　好快架咋　！

ｏｌｅｖｅｌ　同　ａ　ｌｅｖｅｌ　後去就必要好成積先入到好學校，　有Ｄ如　ｈｋｃｅｅ　後去至少４－５Ａ　先收入讀ＬＯＷＥＲ，你話係未仲難呢　？

好學校 year 7 收85個位, year 8 60 個, year 9 收 35 個, 你話係未越細考越易d丫?

去邊間? 係一間幾好的, ranking 25內的學校

你真幸福，送走左no.1，重有no.2, 3, 4 係香港倍你，到阿no.4都要走時，no.1又可能已學成歸來。我暫時得１粒心肝寶貝，到Form 1都唔知捨唔捨得比佢走…

同埋我總覺得女仔無咁易學壞，男仔放係d好嚴的boarding school都會趁機走出去玩，放係親戚附近，好似有個照應，但又怕佢

最好係中一中二走,

小五六就係細左dd,

讀boarding 要夠嚴, 校風要好個d就唔怕, 唔夠理想就唔好去好過 !

黎明都放過洋, 但去讀d唔太好的中學, 日日打交過日子, 最後都係返來, u 的門口都未踏足過 !

多謝, 我一身女兒債, 冇計啦!

男仔去讀boarding真係要小心選校，　唔好的不如唔好去讀！

我想中一去英國應該是最好時機﹐如小朋友在香港要適應中一﹐去到英國早適應中二﹐可能會有點辛苦﹐而且認識朋友也是一個問題啊。如果在外國沒親人﹐英國的boarding school絕對是比去北美一個好的choice.我很多童年朋友去了英國﹐讀得很好會來﹐manner又好﹐但我知道的就是racism重過去美國/加拿大﹐除非你一去到英國就有一口流利英文﹐如果不是認識朋友會有點難。

我是在加拿大讀書的﹐如果你加拿大讀private school的話(不要去公校)﹐那孩子進大學的機會很大。Canada的好處是racism比較少(有都不敢明顯)。有心讀書的人其實都不少﹐要讀可以讀得很辛苦的﹐但如果你不用功﹐學校不會像英國的逼你﹐我們比較free嘛﹗ 最好的是加拿大沒racism,真的﹐他們沒racism的程度是會讓我男友(香港移民)和他好友(俄羅斯移民)拿國家科學研究局的獎學金﹐完全當他們是自己人﹐只要有能力就有機會﹗ 無國界之分﹗

他們教局的這種態度讓人很敬佩罷﹗(我愛我的國家﹗我小時候是兒童醫院的常客﹐每次去他們所以醫護人員都對我很好﹐又醫好了我﹗現在我一有錢就會捐D給他們﹗)

但我認識有人考進Oxford﹐但學校給獎學金就給了本地的英國人(那人比我朋友差一點﹐A-level少她一個A﹗) 因學校做法太明顯﹐她不是太開心。。。(這可能是個別例子)

Can you help me in providing private schools in Canada?  I am researching on boarding schools for my children.  It would be great if it is a co-ed school but I am not resistant to single-sex schools.

Also, which state would you recommend?  I know only of Vancouver and Toronto but are there good private boarding schools in other states?

Finally, what will the costs be like on an annual basis?

My apologies on so many questions but your reply gave me a new perspective on boarding for my kids.  I have only been considering England to-date but perhaps Canada can be an alternative!

很同意你關於加拿大留學的描述, 我表哥也在加拿大留學又拿Scholarship讀, 畢業後在加國的發展也很好.

香港留學生在大學找到part-time的機會也很多﹐只要做到野﹐教授不會理你是中國人還是加拿大人。

Below is a list of private schools around Vancouver.  I'm sorry that I don't know much about private schools in Toronto.

I've tutored numerous students from:
St. George's--the guy will go to McGill for Medicine
York House---that girl went to UC Berkeley after graduation
Crofton House School--it's a very good one

St. George's is the best guy school, while Crofton House is for girls.  I guess over 90% of them go to universities afterward, and some even attend schools like Harvard & Oxford.  The schools are indeed quite hard to get in, and students have quite a lot of homework, too.

The tuition fee is around $36000 per year.

WYmom:
If you child is a Canadian citizen, you may treat public school as a less expensive choice.  (If you're an international student, public schools still charge you a lot, yet they won't provide you much extra help.)  Do you have relatives in Canada? There's no public boarding schools in Vancouver.
If you're thinking about a religious school, you still need to go to private/independent schools.
