連畢業生父母都要買飛入場,仲要幾十鎊一位,會唔會係太市儈呢?! 定英國大學一向要收錢?

係米讀“勁”大學或“名”大學呀？

我孩子嗰間普通大學，唔洗囉，graduate 一張飛，家長兩張飛，如要extra ticket，先request，最後先知有無extra。

睇黎我地間應該係學店。。。

阿仔UCL學士畢業，家長要買飛入場票，Imperial碩士畢業都要，
仲要限住數量。

UK university graduation tickets are a mix of both free and paid: the graduating student's own ticket is free, but guest tickets usually cost money or have limited free allocations.

Graduate Tickets

Free of charge: At the vast majority of UK institutions, your own ticket to walk the stage is free.

Mandatory registration: You must still formally register your attendance online before the university deadline.

Guest Tickets

Complimentary allocation: Many universities provide two free guest tickets as standard, though some London or specialized institutions charge for every guest seat.

Paid extra tickets: Additional guest tickets generally range from £10 to £35 each, depending on the university.

Other hidden costs:
Academic gown hire (often £25 to £75) and professional photography are almost always separate, out-of-pocket expenses.

多謝你既資料，因為真係想知係咪英國大學通常都係咁做法。
我自己就覺得連父母睇子女畢業都要收費似乎有啲over。父母以外既guest要買飛，甚至俾錢都未必買到飛就比較可以理解。

希望你不要介懷，我看這件事較簡單，如果出得錢去觀禮，順便去英國歐洲玩一圈，入景點都要俾入場費，觀禮就當是入場費，會不會舒服一點？！

About the 2026 ceremonies

Do I need a ticket to attend?

All guests must have a ceremony ticket.

Only graduates can buy tickets through the Graduation Portal.
Tickets include:

entry to the ceremony

entry to the reception after the ceremony.

Additional tickets may be available to buy on the day, depending on capacity. The graduate must be present to buy them.

Note:

tickets bought on the day may not be seated with previously booked tickets.

private boxes for up to 4 guests may be available to book through the Graduation Portal.

You may also ask at the help desk on arrival if box upgrades are available.

Children attending

Children are welcome to attend.
However, ceremonies are formal events and last a significant amount of time, which may not be suitable for babies or very young children.

Children under 3 can attend for free but must sit on an adult’s lap.

Children over 3 must have their own ticket and seat.

At Newcastle University, the graduate's ticket and up to two initial guest tickets for congregation ceremonies are free of charge.

Ticket Inclusions and Pricing Details

Free Allocation: Each graduating student receives one free graduate ticket and up to two free guest tickets for the main ceremony.

Extra Guest Tickets: Additional or extra guest tickets for a live screening venue (or main hall seats if capacity allows) may be purchased for £10 each, which also includes entry to the post-ceremony reception.

Ceremony Inclusions:
Free tickets cover admission to the congregation ceremony, access to the post-ceremony reception, and a complimentary drink.
