They are both good schools. But with respect, I think you are missing the point. The most important aspect surely is the boarding experience for your daughter since she'll be there for seven years.
CLC has the largest full boarding contingent of any girls school in Europe. The weekends are jam packed with activities and the boarding houses are full to the brim. In contrast, St Swithun's is only about 50% boarding and that includes weekly and Flexi boarders. As far as I know, the school clears out at the weekends. To me there's a fundamental difference in boarding life.
FYI, I have two daughters happily settled at CLC. St Swithun's was one of the three schools we applied to at the beginning (only because of its proximity to my son's school so logistics would be easier for me), but as soon as we got the offer from CLC, we dropped everything else. It was a no brainer for us.
