Oxford accepts most A-level subjects*, and accepts A-levels (or equivalent qualifications) in an applicant's native language or a language they have spoken on a daily basis for other reasons (for example while living abroad).
* with the exception of General Studies (and both General Studies and Critical Thinking for Medicine and General Studies, Critical Thinking and Thinking Skills for Biomedical Sciences)

Language qualifications
LSE values the skills that language acquisition brings and many of our applicants describe themselves as bi, tri or multi-lingual. We do however differentiate between language learning qualifications and those designed for competent language users. Where we have reason to believe a student has significant prior exposure to a language, we may exclude a language learning qualification from any offer we make.

Native language levels
Native language A levels will be considered, however selection may be based on the three most relevant subjects for your degree choice.
If you have studied A levels at an accelerated rate, and you have therefore completed this study alongside your GCSE level study, we may stipulate the A levels you are currently studying in your offer conditions.

Native language A-level
All modern foreign language A-levels can be used for entry regardless of an applicant's native language. Any subject requirements for the programme must also be met.

A-levels in a native or heritage language
We consider applications holistically taking into consideration the overall educational environment. Where a native language A-level has been studied we will consider them on an equal basis with other subjects.
