My niece (studying in Durham, of 100% Hong Kong origin , ie no UK or EU passport) just obtained a TC offer from a magic circle firm and a boutique firm in London after finishing her summer vacation schemes with them. Her fluency in Chinese (spoken mandarin at mother tongue level) and participation in students activities with leadership roles is a definite advantage.
The reason why I put so many 'd' in the first place is that I do not want to evoke any argument. I am neither a solicitor nor barrister but I do have connection with many law students in HK and UK. That's what they told me, so please ignore what I said (I will edit that out) and continue the discussion.

You are right, but the 2018 survey shows Cambridge, Oxford, Durham, and the rest, in that order. I was told the survey results a month ago. Will post it when it is available online.
