Getting your child into DBSPD

Dear Parents

As an ex-DPS and DBS old boy, I am delighted to see that the school has maintained its attractiveness with parents.  I have sons studying in the school now and I share your love for the beautiful grounds, the modern curriculum and the prospect of entering DBS.

I am a professional and the family is in the business of education.  Would it help if I arrange for a seminar to share my thoughts and experience with those who wish to send their child to DBSPD??

If you are interested to attend, please send me a PM to enable me to make arrangements for a venue.  The seminar would be held on a Monday at 8 pm at a private club in May.  There will be a charge to cover the costs of the venue and materials.

Those without an open mind and the right attitude need not come.  I will limit the space to 50 and priority will be given to those parents whose kids are in K1..... Whilst I am confident that what I have to offer will definitely help, those children who are already in K3 are considered to be in a more difficult situation as there is not enough time to prepare the child properly.

In your PM, please state which grade your child is in, his language abilities, and details of extra-curriculum classes.  Please state what you know about DBS and give simple details of the parents with email address.

老友，上左BK咁多年都唔知呢度個遊戲規則？
琴日路過”想生BB”，見有人代買什麼驗孕紙之類既野，唔知只是三幾蚊貨仔，已經比人鎖左topic喎？！
如果無人左右呢個topic，好有可能是廣告商呢，如果唔係，好快比人鎖架喇….

加埋我，实鎖都得。我在隔離林大輝那篇也給鎖了，理由是有人投訴人身攻击，下次我都要投訴:話我人身攻击的人就是在人身攻击紧我。

Would you pls let me know the following information:

1. Your e-mail address;
2. Your / the speaker's background (e.g. full name, educational background, year of graduation from DBS, etc.)
3. Main topics in the seminar
4. Approximate seminar fee

I think it is fair to let us know the above information which is the usual practice in arranging seminar in the market.

Besides, all BK parents will welcome if you could share your experience here in BK with free of charge. In fact, it is the usual practice of all BK parents here who are learning from one another freely.

Totally agree with your view, as parents I believe all concern and care about their children especially the arrangement for them to select a good school. As we all are open-minded and having a right that's why we want to have more details so that we may prepare ourselves in advance.

Dear All

As an old boy, I am concerned about the quality of students that go into DBSPD.  I personally see this to be a contribution to the school more than a money making event.

To be honest, I agree that info on BBK is traditionally circulated for free.  However, I really want to know more about who I am talking to and whether my effort would be appreciated.

Having considered your comments.  Would you think that it is a good idea for me to make the event condition upon a parent donating HK$500 to any registered charity in Hong Kong???  They then use the receipt as an entry ticket.

I intend to talk about:

1.  Traditions of DBS;
2.  Its requirement on extra curriculum activities;
3.  How to prepare your child;
4.  How to prepare your application in writing so it stands out from the rest;
5.  The correct mindset of a DBSPD parent.

If parents agree to my proposal, then only donations made after 1st April will be accepted.  Please do not start any fire in this discussion.  

As for venue, I will try to get somewhere for free if I can.  Can any parent offer an appropriate venue??  I have my own venue I could then be accused for advertising???
