Sad to see all good deeds and wisdom passed down from our ancestors have been twisted into wrong perception in Hong Kong. I don't mind the answer content from a DSE student who may want to make fun and look cool, then impress the examiner. It is ok. He is the one responsible for his marking?
It is nothing wrong to be a 'Tiger Mom'. it could be an honor to be the number one tiger mom. The root is : parents should well know how to define good and bad for children. The worse is bad deeds twisted to be good, good deeds twsited to be bad in our society.
Long ago Mr Cheng declared his family moving to HK island because of the need of a flat near school in the Peak. So he drove long way to work to Saikung daily. Also, the whole family slept before 8:30pm so as to meet daughers' early school schedule because his wife said so.
In reality we have no experience to be a good mom and good dad, However, we always do small things for improvement, such as providing a very tidy, clean, cozy, quiet and leisure home , choosing a good school and playmates , keep kids away from bad influence friends. When kids ignore all effort given from parents and teachers, that is a big problem. They are zero in appreciation, especially to their own parents. I was suprised to see a columnist and some people would support this twisted idea and story retold. . |
