我囡囡上在就黎一年,見佢係Tomlee 都冇特別進步同學到彈琴技巧/樂理!

反而私人學 piano 六個月到就進步好多,自己識彈同睇譜,已經換在第二本琴書,琴老師仲話可安排佢十月表演!我想唔同佢上 Tomlee,寧可上多堂piano,大家有冇好意見提供?

我個仔上了32堂後quit左jmc，亦是保留了學彈琴。
但jmc並非發展彈琴技巧/樂理的課程。

How old is your girl? Mine is 4 years old and we have attended 12 lessons JMC already. My girl likes music so much, however, I think she may not suitable to have formal piano class until her finger muscles is strong enough. That is the reason I enrol her to JMC course, she can sing every songs with lyrics after attending each week's class and she can play the piano by playing do, re, mi, fa, so i.e. C, D, E, F, G, however, I observe her finger is still very weak, but improving. My wish is to keep her attending the JMC course for training the aural i.e. earings and pitch and let her start learning piano after 6 years old.

Also, the teacher at our course is good and she can manage the class and arouse the kids' attention. So far so good......

My girl is 5 now. I found that she is able to play the piano, as her fingers are strong enough.

I note that she is always confused by the Tomlee teacher and the private piano teacher regarding the fingers playing the notes. Tomlee teacher teaches do, re, mi, fa, so and uses different fingers to play different notes in different songs! However, the piano teacher teaches her C, D, E, F, G by using the same fingers consistently so that she can manage the songs and reads the notes herself. I am surprised that she can even play the song "大長今" very well.

That's why I am thinking of quitting the Tomlee Class and let her learn to play the piano in a consistent way.

Yes. I noticed that Tom Lee is teaching 'do, re, mi, fa, so' instead of C, D, E, F, G from the start which I also afraid that when my girl start to learn playing piano she may be confused. I remember when I was young, my piano teacher just taught me that this is C using 1st finger, D using 2nd finger so on and so forth. However, I think it is good for the first time learner to learn 'do, re, mi, fa, so' so that the kid will know every notes will have a chance to be a 'Do' not just C. The teaching on 'do....so' is also good for training their hearings. Once they got used to 'do fa names' they can learn the name of the keyborard i.e. C, D, E...B. at a later stage.

However, if your girl is attending both, I think she may get confused easily. Just give up one. This is just my own opinion.

Agree！I prefer kids know do,re,me, ....... so to C, D, E ....... 。My son started to learn piano before his last few lessons at JMC. JMC不會特別教小朋友看樂譜，但注重聽音，每堂都會先listen & sing，有時有by ear singing。每堂有唱歌或出去做動作，今小朋友感受

我仔仔之前係causeway Bay 上, 該位老師教完就算! 不論小朋友識唔識. 而家我仔仔轉左去西環學, 位老師好好...每學完一首歌仔, 都有機會出去老師度表演比所有人聽! 仔仔仲有4堂就完成左一年既課程, 佢學得好開心.

我仔仔而家可以聽完一首簡單既短歌(未教過佢彈), 然後自己去個琴度彈出黎, 我覺得咁已經好好! 學琴既日子好長, 我覺得我唔會急於一時, 等仔仔完成整個課程先比佢學琴都唔遲. 我之前都帶仔仔去見過一位好叻既老師, 佢好full仲係$400/堂, 每堂30mins (真係好貴!) 佢都話學完成個course先學琴都唔遲, 因為呢個course對學琴都好有幫助!

在 TOMLEE 登記左成年先至有回覆可以上 JMC 班, 囡囡在太古讀了3個月, 在3月份已經開始無讀, 我都覺得好浪費, 因為見小朋友越來越無心機上堂, 回家又唔練琴, 佢又話唔鍾意學琴, 所以先至無讀, 咪再俾佢學第二D興趣班.

囡囡未讀過其他電子琴班, 唔知其他音樂班比較活動式,可以增加小朋友興趣去學琴, 我都覺得 TOMLEE 較為沉悶, D小朋友最開心是一齊出去同老師唱歌及放學前取貼紙, 其他很依賴父母在家中同小朋友做練習。

我報了TomLee的JMC, 原本在5月27日上堂, 但囡囡現在已找到私人鋼琴老師教授, 學得還不錯, 所以在4月21日已經以電話通知TomLee取消, 但他們說不能退還己繳交的學費, 現在不知如何處理, 真得要去上課嗎?

你已經交了學費給TOM LEE, 頭一次連書薄費, TOM LEE 唔退還給你, 都損失很多, 我個人意見提議如果時間許可, 你都已付了學費, 可以去讀四堂, 四堂之後才告訴TOM LEE退學, 我都係等小朋友讀到下次交學費, 才告訴TOM LEE。

The music course designed by TL is very good to arouse kid's music sensation and music appreciation, it is not just teaching piano. I am sure your kid will gain from it. Go ahead and try before you quit!
