Dear all,

I'm new to this forum and need all the experts here for some advice.  My son just got accepted to DBIS nursery this coming Sep.  Anyone has any comment/ review about this school?  By the way, my son also has an offer for Anfield Kowloon Tong.  Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

At nursery stage:
No point to travel to Kowloon everyday if you are living in DB;
No point to travel to DB everyday if you are not living in DB.
That was my experience when I was living in DB.

Thanks for your reply.  Btw, we live in Tung Chung and we are trying to pick the right school for him.  We heard a lot of great things about Anfield Kindergarten and seems DBIS primary is pretty strong and established as well.  Do you have any comments about DBIS primary?

i have no experience in DBIS. Just know that it was very difficult to get in, for even expats living in DB. Should be one of the most Internationalized international school in Hong Kong. Environment in DB is perfect. If I were you, I would try.
Anfield :I was an Anfield parent but I did not feel the school was "great". It was just a school that could provide a strong foundation to my daughter for her next step.

Schools are more or less the same at early stage. Sometimes parents' attitudes/involvement is an decisive factor to be success or not.

If we look at the map, surely the distance between Tung Chung and Disco Bay is much shorter than from Tung Chung to Kowloon Tong.

If DBIS is good enough, why bother to travel all the way to Kowloon Tong Anfield? Unless you plan to move back to Kowloon in the near future.

Thank you all for the valuable comments,  think now we're more inclined to send our son to DBIS as both kindergartens provide similar English level and the travel time is much shorter from home to DB. Also, DB is such a great place for kids.

Hi Sinalbert,

I noticed it's hard to get into DBIS, just wanna know did you apply for your son well before hand? and did you paid for the standard Levy or the premier one?
I just hand in the application form for my kid and its for the 2017 season.

Hi Starz 20,


We handed in our application about a year ago and opted for the standard levy.  We received phone call couple of weeks ago notifying us that our son is accepted.  We were kind of surprised as well that he is able to get in.
