Clearing is a system by UCAS allowing students who did not meet their choices or want to go another university to pick another course, subject to the university places. From this year, Adjustments, which is for students who receive ABB or exceeded their prediction grade and want to apply to another university because of their better results. For example, if someone is offered BBB to study i.e. Bath in Mathematics, but only has BCC, and therefore lost their first or even second choice go through clearing. or someone who originally predicted BBB, but receive ABB can go through clearing/adjustments to find a better university
for university, they go will offer courses that still have places in clearing to accept students that meet the requirement, all requirement are usually published on the university website.
The clearing process starts on the day students receive their A-Level results until Sept, and clearing for courses stopped once they receive enough students to fill the course
