Victoria Pre-nursery -- Very difficulty to get into?

I heard from friends last year that it is very difficulty to get into Victoria (HK side) pre-nursery school because there're so many applicants. About 5 to fight for 1 seat, is that correct? I just finished the interview today, okay, not too bad. Teachers are very good. But this school is not my first choice.

i also finished the interview with my naughty daughter. But i'm not sure the fraction for successfully get in there. Good environment but it also is not my first choice.

Many people say Victoria is difficult to get into because there are many applicants, however they have limited amount of space.

My son have accepted by Victoria (Ho Man Tin), but i have just dropped it last week, because i have another better choice - Learning Habitat at Tsing Yi.

I have compare both Victoria and Learning Habitat, i found out the toys at Learning Habitat is tidy and the place is clean than Victoria and the teachers are much nicer.

My son is attending playgroup at Victoria alreday for 6 months, i feel the teachers are not good at all, 無愛心 :evil: but i will still let him attend the playgroup because i am together with him to take the lesson, but if on his own, i will not let him to study this kindergarten lar.....

my son attend the playgroup at Upper Kornhill Victoria, i feel the teachers are not good because the teachers used to pull the children to ask them sit down, and speak loud next to their ears....

Hi all,

My son attended the interview on last Saturday too and the location was at Harbour Heights, North Point. I find the teachers are quite nice.

I have applied for 2 days school only and I really have no preference on AM or PM session. Will that be still difficult to get in?

My friend brought her son to interview in Kornhill and seems like her son had been asked or tested to do a lot of tasks, while my son's interview was quite relaxing. I wonder why there's difference cos' both of them are applyting to Toddler class

Appreciate if you can share your experience! Thanks!

你覺得上康的victoria 環境如何呀? 我仔仔都有apply 到pre-nursery呀. 如果佢地收的話, 都會係上康的.
而家有幾多小朋友一班呀?

Upper Kornhill Victoria environment is very old, they have not do any repairing, the toys are old as well and quite dusty behind the wall.......

thats why i said Learning Habitat is much better than Kornhill Victoria.

Your son has already admitted by Victoria (Ho Man Tin)?! I know that the interview is conducted just last Saturday...why you know the result so fast?

Hi all,

My daughter also attend the interview  for Toddler class last Saturday at Harbour Heights, as HSI said, the teachers seems quite nice.  The interview was just like going to playgroups, teachers playing with the babies while couple other teachers evaluating their observation.

Pretty nervous about the result.  Is it really that difficult to get in?

BTY, Blythe_miki:  Just wondering how come you already knew that your son is accepted since the interview was only conducted three days ago?

Anyway, good luck to all of us and let's keep our fingers cross.

my son held the interview few months ago wor, at the end of Octocer 2004, he have the 1st priority to get a place from Victoria because my son is attending Playgroup at Victoria for around 6 months already.

BTW, all kids attending Victoria playgroup must get into Pre-Nursery, they are all 直升. even the interview will be much different than the outside kids who are not having playgroup at their kindergarten.

But I've heard that whether or not you attend Victoria's playgroup does not affect their way of judging the kid in terms of applying for N1 and also attending the playgroup does not mean they can 直升 to N1 directly. So... I guess I've got it wrong then.

BTY, what's the difference between the interviews for playgroup kids and the outsiders anyway?

Almost $4,000 per month for a pre-nursery class is so expensive. Does it worth? I really doubt. But a friend of mine highly recommend the kindergarden class as it could really train his son well in terms of good thinking and language skills. Maybe we don't have to put our child to their pre-nursery as it is only $1,000 something for a playgroup. Agree?

do you mean $1,000 something for a playgroup at Victoria?? if you pay $1000, you will only have 1 lesson per week, so 4 days lessons per month, sometimes 3 lessons only becoz they always have holiday.

i think if attend the playgroup at their kindergarten, they will ask the kids easier questions during the interview, so they can be easier to get in ar..

but my son will quit the playgroup next moth la, i will change another playgroup for him, a better one, Anfield Kiddie's Playgroup at Kowloon Tong, but ofcoz it is much more expensive :-x

Sorry, I don't think there is different way of interview for kids attendend Victoria's playgroup or not. My son attends Victoria's playgroup. The interview format is same as clic_1221 ar. Just like attending playgroup.

BTW, I do agree that the playgroup at Victoria is not worth. My son will quite the playgroup later.
