Re: 請德望和SFA家長給與意見
My daughter also applied these two schools and was accepted by GH and rejected by SFA.
I had mixed feelings about these two schools in the interview stage:
SFA is the only school I applied that has to go through an "examination" for selecting suitable students. At the day of "examination", parent had to wait in the playground for an hour for their kids to attend the "examination". An incident that upsetted me was that I asked the school staff for going to their toilet but was refused and was directed to the public toilet at the public estate opposite to the school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was totally unacceptable to me. We parents are the potential customer of the school and they treated us like strangers!!!!!!!!!! I attented 7 interviews with my daughter and never had this kind of experience (examination + using public toilet). I had very bad feeling on this school.
For GH, they held an interview for all applicants in just one day (Saturday). We were interviewed in batches of about 50 parents (either father or mother) + daughters in intervals of half an hour. At the selected time, a batch was asked to wait in the hall standing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for about half an hour before letting to go to classrooms to be interviewed (daughters) and fill in a questionair (parent). Why did we had to stand and wait in the hall for half an hour??????????? Why didn't seats be provided???????
After all the interviews, I decided not to choose SFA even be accepted. Not only because of the above, but also on the fact that it is a famous school but with no connected secondary school. To keep its name and record of no. of their students to enter other famous secondary school like DBS, LS etc, its student had to work harder than students from other connected primary schools like DBS Primary or LS primary.
For GH, it is a girl school (less influenced by boys) with connected seconday school (no need to fight again for secondary school place). I think it is much better to let my daughter to study there. |
