The future of learning may be very different from what we know.  Also fascinating discussion about the digital divide and how it can be narrowed.  Also makes one twice about whether a child is truly gifted or just a consequence of their environment.

Many many thanks for your sharing of this wonderful clip.

For me, it is by far the most inspiring, insightful and thought-provoking speech on education.

While watching the video the first thing in my mind was perhaps our current education system is suppressing our kids' inherent learning ability.

回復 annie40 的帖子

I hope so too.  Will try to do one of these sessions as an experiment one of these days.

好正,笑到流淚。

怪不得有人話,如要找男女朋友,不要選擇上 fb 的,要楝睇 TED 的!

Well, good idea, we all know children are capable of great things.  The British Empire may have gone, but the bureaucratic administrative machines are here to stay: Governments, corporations, companies.  We still need the cogs in the machine.

Ken Robinson's TED talks are also very good, eg:
Changing Education Paradigm
The ADHD epidemic and schools kill creativity are really impressive points.

Encouragement ---> Learning
Punishments & Examinations ---> Seen as threats ---> Brain shuts down!

If we put ourselves in a learner's shoe, this is so obvious.  However, most parents do exactly opposite in reality.  Great reminders to me!
