Yeah. If SC pm (in fact just on waiting list at the moment but hopefully has a chance) in PN, I heard that it would be pm class all the way through to K3. Most extracurricular activities like drawing, dancing and mandarin are offered by centers in the afternoon. Don't know if many available in the morning.
But my main concern is I would like my daughter to enter the English/Putonghua stream in SC (in K1) but that needs an assessment beforehand. I'm a native English speaker and my husband is a local Chinese so we can help her in both languages, but we would like her to pick up Putonghua at school. If she doesn't get into the English/Putonghua stream in SC, then would Ming Wai PE be a safer choice since their language environment is English/Putonghua with a little bit of Japanese.
I know that SC is very reputable and is a better ticket to P1 allocation. However, is Ming Wai PE comparable to SC? I've heard good comments about the teachers and language environment from Ming Wai PE parents. But can I get a good P1 allocation after staying there for 4 years? My targets are Maryknoll, Good Hope, Heep Yunn, DGJS, etc. Again, schools that are very hard to get into. Do these schools like SC's graduates better?
If I don't get a place from SC, then I can try again at the end of this year for K1 English/Putonghua stream.
Thanks for your replies.
