If you have decided to take the IS route, it's not necessary to stay at St Cat, unless you want to try local schools or CKY. Try Anfield for Year 1? Why Korean or Think?

I'm afraid no one can answer you with definite outcome because every case is different.
my input is that RC Waitlist is moving because my girl was offered a seat from Waitlist earlier this month. unfortunately We gave up because another good offer came up quicker than RC.

If RC is your first choice then stay in English medium school because you can always try next year and all they focus during interview is student's English ability. If you target CKY,  make sure you kid also has strong Chinese because they do look at both English and Chinese ability.

If you strive for IS education, you should take any one IS offer as back up while waiting for your favorite school (which may take for months or years). U always have the chance to switch when you are staying in IS education in the coming years.
If you are not sure to go to IS or LS until this moment (that's why you are still hesitating to stay in St. Catherine K3), you better think again whether it is still worthy to invest 1x years in IS education? What you are expecting from IS education?

If $ is not a big deal, school bus &/or relocation can relieve your concern.
If you don't like the school, of course no point waste your money and time.

Wasting money is not funny; but not having a place is disastrous.

To play safe, u can pay the deposit first and keep waiting. Some schools will have offer to waitlist children just before or even after the school starts in August.
I got through the similar experiences. Offers did not come in your preferred order.

Completely agree with Oooray.

DC is a very good school but it doesn't teach much Chinese if I remember correctly. Taking up DC doesn't mean you need to give up waiting for RC. They operate seperately. It's just that you will waste the deposit and levy you paid to DC.

It's all depends on what you think fits your child better. KIS, Think, DC, they are all very different. If you have visited all of them, I'm sure you will have some gut feeling about which school will fit your kid more. That gut feeling can be unexplainable but a lot of the time correct.

Like I said, RC wait list is moving but of course, no body knows how many more and what’s your child position in there. But given you are on wait list, there is always a chance. If RC is your first choice, worth check with them how their waitlist work. (I understand even the school starts in September, you can continue to be on their waitlist and there is no cut off time like other schools. But your child needs to be reassessed every ½ year. Worth check out) If RC is really your first choice, I think it’s worth waiting, isn’t it?

DC is in the same ESF family with same curriculum, so it may be easier for your child to adjust when he switches to RC. But then you have to take traditional Chinese tutorial. You may move to somewhere with short school bus distance to school? E.g. Tsing Yi?

Think is also a sensible choice if you want the child to study traditional Chinese.

Try to ask RC what position you are in the wait list so you can gauge when you can have the offer.
