Northern Ireland and the northern part of UK like Wales are located in the relatively poorer and less advanced part of the UK.
The accent of these regions can be quite hard to understand for foreigners at the beginning. Unfortunately, some people may view people with Welsh and Irish accent to be less educated.
I am not sure whether the teachers and students located in these regions will have Irish accent. If such is the case, your kid will also learn and speak English with Irish accent.
Compared with those schools with traditional British heritage, idyllic setting, reputation and academic excellence in the southern part of UK, most people would not let their kids studying abroad in the northern part of UK despite the relatively inexpensive school fee.
