Hi everyone, my son has 亞氏保加症 too. I was so headache before he was assessed. I thought that was my bad parenting so he was so naughty. However, it is nothing to do with our parenting but he is born like this. Now I understand more and start to do therapy with him everyday. He is getting a lot better at home and school. We all work hard!!!
Hi dorisfan, we use a therapy group called ISADD. They did the assessment for my son in July and tailored made therapy programme for him from Sep. We have a case manager to create and adjust his programme weekly and I m the therapist to do most of the work with him. I spend about 7 to 9 hours per week on his therapy. The case manager provides us all materials and things that we need. She also teaches me how to do them as well. They have following up assessment and progress report every year. It all sounds quite nice but they are very expensive so we are pulling all our resources for him. Also, we live in New Zealand so I m not sure whether ISADD is available in HK. We are very fortunate that he has no homework or any pressure from school here in NZ. We can spend as much time as we like after school. He loves the case manager as she has the magic to work with kids and he loves to do the therapy (most of the time). I m very hopeful for him but it will be a long journey for the whole family. The case manager has kids with her for more than 10 years.....
