因正為小女揀幼稚園，問小一媽媽最清楚。面試考普通話嗎？廣東話和英文比重多少呢？謝謝！

英普: 全程一net一pth, 用pth學中文，net class teaher
兩文三語: 平均各一小時，local班主任

你們當初選了什麼？比你選多次那種語言在升小一較有競爭力呢?

Most interviews are conducted in Cantonese / English. Only some Chinese focus schools include PTH in interview. I think studying in a English + PTH KG is for the development of PTH skills, rather than hoping that the PTH skills can benefit them a lot for the purpose of primary school interview.

From another perspective, I also do not see that studying in an English + PTH KG would have negative impact on interview, at least not for my boy.

如讀英普，閱讀時會否不懂中文字的廣東音呢？廣東話在邏輯思考同辨論上會否削弱呢？
如果選英普，我就要轉台同佢用廣東話

If your child studies in English / PTH KG and you want your child to learn the Cantonese pronounciation of Chinese characters, then you need to teacher your child by yourself. Your child will not automatically learn this.

SMC, 崇真, CKY, PKC, WKF, 其實好多私校、直資都是以英普教學, 只是百分比不同。有些學校請本地老師用英普教, 有些是ABC, 有些主要是西人教。一分錢—分貨,有機會去學校參觀下, 有時辦學理念同現實不相符。

本地小學極大部份的面試都是廣東話，我自知阿仔不是能言會道的人，所以到現在都未教他PTH(不知是否做得對），以免他學太多語言反成了他表達時的障礙，他2歲時就是在英文和廣東話之間無可適從，反而慢了。過去兩年，基本上只和他說廣東話，情況好多了。面試至今，他沒告訴過我哪兒特別考他普通話，當然，簡單的普通話學校應有教他們，可能是一星期一堂個種。如你是為了面試，建議先不要學PTH，但面試過後，上小一前，就一定要抓緊學，以減輕他入了小學後面對國語學習的壓力。

After listening to you girls, I think about the language development and changed my mind:
1. Bilingual at home (I will use Eng and Cantonese on different days, instead of only Eng)
2. choose 兩文三語 kinder instead of 英普，as I want her to know the Cantonese on reading also

Thanks again for voicing out your views, you girls gave me a lot of guidance. 仲有，有咁多小學要了解，咁係咪下年一入pn我就要去open day? 真係未考k就要諗定小學

If you child is OK, learning more languages is better of course. However, with regard to applying P1 seats in DDS interview, most of these schools look for the 'potential' of the child rather the the languages that the child can master. If it is really a famous good school, they can or at least they believe they can train up the child after they admit a good potential child. That's why most of these school conduct their interview in Cantonese. So the best way to get good result in interview is to train up your kids, i.e provide good family education to the kids.

The P.1 application is a short term goal. Agree with steven819. I think as long as your child can master English + cantonese or PTH, then your child should be doing fine in the interview.

himuimui I did read many primary and secondary and find many english band 1 schools in those two net in KLN side and which near my house. YTM is YauMaTei, MK and TST. 發表於 12-10-31 08:26
