How should we teach bb the two actions.

動詞
excrete excreting
urinate    urinating

名詞
faeces 大便
urine 小便

唔想用d BB話 wee wee  poo poo...又唔想教得太學術。有無中容之選？

請指教！

I won't use very formal words to teach BB.

Will you teach your BB in Chinese, like : "Do you want to pass urine from your body"  ?

Gweloi children words are:

I want to pee.  To go for a pee?  To have a pee?
I want to do a poo!

My son's Gweloi teacher also teach them to use "pee pee" if they need to go to bathroom.

Agree.

How about "pee" and "have/make a bowel movement"? I think this is less formal and yet ok for conversation.

小便'-
foreign people common to say:
Do you want to pass water?
Do you want to void?

Noun: voiding

more difficult: pass urine or urination

大便'

noun:
easy: bowel opening

more difficult: defecation

easy: Do you want to pass stool?
Do you want to have bowel opening?

polite: Do you want to go to washroom?

I would rather use "pee pee" & "poo poo" for babies. More easy for a baby to learn to communicate with the adult when they want to go to toilet in their 牙牙語階段. Such a long phrase and the pronounciation is not that easy, I am afraid during 戒片時, 小朋友講到賴都未有人知佢想去洗手間呢!

If want to let the baby/child knows the formal way of saying, the adult can say the formal saying when the baby is doing the action. My maid use the term "making stools" when my son was sitting in the potty (I don't know if the verb making is right or not), now my son knows stools = 屎. Boys' position is not the same for the 2 actions. Now, if my boy says he wants to go to toilet, we will ask him "urine" or "stools"?

等於用中文,我們都先會用簡單的"尿尿" "大大", 到小朋友的語言能力能handle, 我們都會教他說"去洗手間 - 小便, 大便".
