My kid just turns to 4 years old, we observed that there're a couple of mistakes / habits made in her writing and recognising numbers:

1.  Write number "2" as S
2.  Sometimes mix up 6 and 9
3.  Write number "3" as in a Flip over way, i.e. "3" is being flip-over
4.  Write a word, e.g. rat, from right to left, i.e. start writing "t" rather th an "r" first.

All the above could be correct when we remind her.  But without our reminders, she quite often repeats the same mistakes.

We donno if it's just a matter of learning and teaching, or it's indeed symtoms of some sort of  "learning hindrance" problem.  Anyone can share their experience, and to which specialist that I should seek for advice and help?

你好！

她可能是在視覺感知方面出了點問題，視覺感知有障礙的孩子在書寫方面會有以下的表徵，例如：把字型相近的字母和數目字倒轉來寫（b寫作d,q寫作p); 將串法相近的英文字母或生未反轉來寫（saw寫作was）等等，可給她找臨床心理學家評估，看她是否真的有此問題，
可能她只是未熟習字型，才有你說的那些情況吧！

Many thanks for your info. Do you know how do I find these specialists? Do you think if I take her to the gov't clinic for 4 years old assessments and tell the nurse we spot on her this problem, can they help to refer us to related dept within gov't?

你好！

透過西醫寫轉介信給兒童體能智力測試中心去給孩子做評估吧，但需要等候的時間多久，我就不太清楚！

兒童體能智力測試中心（新症登記需知）：

轉介及登記
兒童必須透過註冊西醫或心理學家的轉介，才可以接受中心的評估服務。家長可前往住址所屬地區的測驗中心登記及安排預約，亦可透過電話預約。

登記備忘錄
請攜帶以下証明文件和費用

－醫生或心理學家之介紹信
－兒童出世紙或身份證 ( 必須為正本 )
－父親及母親身份證 ( 或影印本 )
－兒童半身近照 1 張、健康院紀錄簿、防疫注射紀錄及所有專科覆診咭

專科門診收費 ( 首次求診費用港幣 100 元正，其後每次覆診費用港幣 60 元正 ) 或有效的 GF181/ HA181 表格或有效的綜援醫療費用豁免証明書

在每次應診時，家長必須攜帶兒童出世紙或身份證，以便核對。

如家長未能依照已預約的日期和時間應診，請儘快通知本中心職員改期。否則，預約會被自動取消。預約取消後，如家長希望重新輪候，家長須要自行來電，本中心會再作安排。

I consult my child's paediatrian, he said he wouldn't worry about this until at later stage of K2.  He said this writing problem is very common at initial stage of writing letters and words.  He wouldn't even borther with going for those IQ  or all arounded testing, because it could be a matter of how you interpret the results.

So are the writing and numbers recognition problems I mentioned earlier very common for child of 4 years old?  That I worry about it too early?  My doctor advised me to keep correcting and teaching would be good enough.
