bb@wonderland There is no classification on band 1 primary school. Usually people refer to the proportion of band 1 students (P6) generated/ entered into band 1 secondary. 發表於 12-3-8 18:30

My son gets admitted to RC new kindergarten K3. Hopefully, he can get into RC directly.
Please share more info about RC Primary.
1 is it a very traditional school having lots of homework and test/ dictation?
2. Are the teachers caring?

my friend said only the top 100 students can go to Ramondi secondary, not a guarantee.
My hesitation to this school is it has big class , approx. 40 students.

But if you could secure being the top 100 at least is better than looking for school after P6.

So far as I have noticed, at most there are around 33-37 students in a class.
The school is a traditional one, but the course is not really too demanding.

1.  There is not much homework in P.1-3.  Usually students can complete them within 1-1.5 hours.
2.  There are around 5-6 times of Chi & Eng dictations  in each semester (there are 3 semesters in a year),
3.  There are around two assessments (i.e. tests) for four major subjects (i.e. Chi/ Eng/ Maths & GS) before each examination, but they are regarded as revisions only cos the marks will not be counted.
4.  The teachers are in general responsible and nice. Most of them have been teaching in this school for quite a long time.

As observed from the teachers (mainly form teachers) I have met, they are willing to discuss with parents about the performance of their children at school. You can meet the form teacher right before the new school term starts, and every time when the school reports are released, you can meet the form teacher and some other teachers again.
