NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) has special skills to activate our Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetics senses to improve our memory of English Spelling. There is such a class for Parents on coming Friday ( 7:30pm to 10pm ) and Saturday (2:30pm to 5pm) at a fee of HKD150. Interested peope can contact me at [email protected].

I help my daughter (primary 2) to spell crocodile- she can use phonic to remember cro, co but her phoic cannot help her to remember dile. We create a story on DILE- DILE are the tools to hunt the crocodile. D is the BOW and I is the arrow, L (small letter is "l") is the spear; E is the fork.
My daughter's 3 senses are activated (auditory, visual, kinesthetics) and she can now spell the 9 letter long word.

I am interested in the course. Is it only one single lession or a series of lessons? But may I know what does "Kinesthetics" mean as I can't find it from the dictionary.

Kinesthetic sense

The feeling sense is called kinesthetic system. External kinesthetic include tactile sensations like touch, temperature and moisture. Internal kinesthetics include remembered sensations, emotions, and the inner feelings of balance and bodily awareness.

Tradtional spelling strategy bases on phonic will activate mainly our audtiory sense (sound sense). If we can activate our different senses on the string of letters , we can increase our chance of successful spelling. On spelling "crocodile", my daughter can use her auditory sense to memorise "cro" and "co". As "DILE" are visualised as objects : D is a bow, I is the arrow, L is the spear, E is the fork. The visual sense is used. As my daughter has kinesthetic memory of the tools, feeling sense are also activated.

The NLP skill in spelling is to use more senses : Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic.
