Playgroup or Nursery?

Hello everyone.
I am confused which way should I choose.

A/ Attending the nursery everyday from 2years old in Deobrah(Po Ing)TKO half day.-international calss.
OR

B/ Joing the playgroup in Kowloon Tong Area e.g. Notthingham children Campus or Yew chung may be 2 time a week.

I have heard from a expert that nursery really didnt help that much, it is better to let the kid join different playgroup instead and let her take enough rest. Cause she will be sure got a lot of chance to learn.

My concern is.
1. There is no good playgroup in Clearwaterbay area or TKO. I guess the place in Kowloon TOng got large area or so.  I want some place got outdoor area for the kids to play instead of inside play only. Any comment.

2. Is nursery class N1 really necessary? For the kid to attend the class everyday 9-12.from 2 years old?
or going to the playgroup is enough?

Re: Playgroup or Nursery?

I have experience with two schoools in Kowloon Tong, the ITLP class for under twos and the nursery class for two and above in Yew Chung Childrens' House and also Anfields Kiddies Club for two year olds. Both schools are very good in their own respects.

Yew Chung focuses on training the children to be responsible and independent. Classes are in cantonese with some english taught. I like Yew Chung for two year olds as they have two teachers plus a helper. Toilets are in the classrooms which is a plus if the child is still in nappies.

Anfield Kiddies Club resembles a british nursery. All classes are taught in english. Teachers are nice and friendly. Uses letterland to teach the alphabet. Lots of arts and crafts. Classes split into 15 minute segments. Mandarin taught once per session. Needs child's parent or maid to be present in classes.

Both meets the criterion of having outside play areas that you sought.

My paediatrician responded to my question of whats the best age for children to start schooling by saying "at least two years old".

Re: Playgroup or Nursery?

Whoops, failed to mention that Yew Chungs two years old class is 5 days a week, 2 1/5 hours and they have a choice of am or pm classes

Anfields sessions are 2 hours long and you can have a choice of 2, 3 or 5 days per week.

A side note- in my daughters class at Anfields Kiddies Club, 5 children applied to St. Catherines, 4 were accepted and 1 is on the waiting.
