I understand that for 2011, the average IB score for South Island was 34.4, Island was 35.1 and West Island was 34.4. Even though the results vary from year to year (as annie40 rightly pointed out), I notice that the average IB score for these 3 schools has been on an upward trend for the last 3 years. For 2011, the average score for CIS was 37 and LPC was 36.35. So there is still a gap of 1 to 2 points between these 2 schools and the 3 ESF schools we are talking about. However, if the 3 ESF schools can maintain the current upward trend, then the gap will in due course become narrower. Looking at these figures solely, I think these 3 ESF schools are doing pretty well especially as they are not competing with CIS and LPC on a level playing field by being non-selective schools to start with. |
