我弟弟個女和我舊同學個仔都在聖三一堂中心幼。而且我是這教堂的。我認識的梁校長是個很好又有理念的好教育家。早前在蘋果日報介紹這校，評價十二分好！
小朋友愛上課、愛學習又乖了。學習是以小朋友主導的。
環境我唔係好舊，當然同KlnTong幼稚園比一定無得比。
擇選學校是以小朋友能開心學習。那聖三一堂中心幼應該好好了。

我巳寄了表格到學校, 但未收到約見信. 我個女一見到陌生人就不肯說話, 不知到時面試點算好. 可否告訴我這間幼兒中心面試的模式呢? 其實我不是在這區住的, 只是返工時可順道帶返學. 以及必須要6:00 才可回校接放學, 這樣會不會fail 的多呢?

My son is studying K1 in this school.  He likes going to the school.

For the interview last year, it was an activity based interview.  Before the interview time, the children go to a games room with 波波池, slide, 彈床 to play and warm up.  After that, children were asked to play a few games, e.g. 積木, 拋豆袋入洞etc.  And the school will give an assessment sheet to see if the child could finish the game.  During playing, the teachers observe the kid, talk to the child and the parents.  For example, ask the child what his / her name and give something to the child to check his reaction.  The teacher will ask the parents who is looking after the child…  Just simple questions.  Parents can accompany with their children.  

I think whether the school is good or not depending on your expectation.  I think the school emphasizes on learning through activity and teacher's guidance and let the children discover rather than one-way traditional training.  It also offers different kinds of learning.  It offers Jazz and 陶土 classes once a week.  The campus is quite spacious compared with other kindergartens in Tokwawan.  It has 20 years of history but I don't think it old.  It also shares the facilities e.g. lecture theatre in the affiliated primary school beside it.  The teachers and principal are very nice and remember every student.

I think the district where you live does not affect the chance of being admitted.  The school has school bus service.  I know that a kid is living in Kwai Fong studies there.

Although my son is not studying in this Day Nursery, we had attended their interview 4 yrs ago, my son was placed on reserve, and finally after we have started school in another Nursery this one called mid-September to say that they would admit my son, but we decided to stay in the other one.

My impression of this Day Nursery 4 yrs ago was that the teachers were good to the children, very patient during the interview, and encourage them to speak up.  (They give the child a sheet of paper, and after the child answers the questions the teacher will put a stamp on the paper, like a reward for playing a game.)  Very basic simple questions.  So long as the child gives some reaction, and doesn't cry and cry throughout the interview, it should be OK.

The school has very good connections with the District Board and Govt dept and its students have lots of chances to perform during official functions.

我也替女女報了明年N1，請問是否每星期也有外籍老師來上一堂英文的呢？你覺得這校的中英文程度是深或淺呢？

我只知有外籍老師來上英文堂，但深或淺視乎家長要求！要知好多人要3歲仔讀4歲書，4歲仔讀5歲書，深或淺真視乎家長。我弟弟話OK無問題！

一早個聽聞這幼兒園幾好，環境看了也很滿意！但擔心怕羞女！能否比的意見？

Hello Kaka01,

The school has a foreign English teacher from Australia / New Zealand.  There is an one-hour session each week.  Compared with other famous English kindergartens, I think the English standard of this school is lower.  Actually, I think the school focuses on training up style of learning, i.e. learning through 主動探索, rather than the manual ‘feeding’ of knowledge to the pupils.

I think kids attending N1 will be less shy, improve their speech ability, knowledge and their 自理能力.  However, they will get sick much easier.

Thank you for your info, but my kid solemly sick will it be get bad sick? I've heard while kids go to school will get sick easier, but compare with their improvement & sick, will you think it's worst?
pls advise.

巳收到面試信, 於11 月27日接見, 希望成功啦! 學校亦寄了一些小冊子, 看了都較有信心, 其實我都只希望我的女兒可開開心心上學, 所以給她攺名樂兒. ....但我今天收到另外一間幼兒園的信, 都未面試, 因學額巳滿, 只可安排後備, 好失望. 因我女兒明年應報讀K1, 但因一般幼稚園, K1 只有半日制, 故只可讀幼兒園, 但一般幼兒園都有N1, 應可直升K1, 故K1的學額所餘無多.
請問有沒有其他幼兒園可推介, 我想都是報多些好D.
請幫幫手.

Hello Chloezoe,

Good luck to your interview.   From my last year’s experience, as far as your kid can finish the games, the chance of being admitted should be high.

Last year, both 聖三一 & 牧愛堂 admitted my son.  I eventually chose聖三一 because I want my son to go to full-time school.  I also recommend these two schools in Tokwawan.

I think if you want your daughter to study happily, I think聖三一 can satisfy your requirement.

Actually, we cannot predict if a kid will get sick easily when he goes to school.  What I can say is the chance of getting sick is much higher as the kids have close contact with each other, if one kid gets sick, others are more easily to get infected.  If he is really strong enough to resist, he may get sick one or two times but once he gets accustomed to the environment, he will be fine.

I think you may try first as the improvement is more certain than the risk of getting frequent sickness.

One more thing, being shy is a character which I think it is not easily changed.  The improvement may be slow.

Actually, I want my daughter go to the full time school too. As we are living in Lantau Island, I have no way to arrange somebody to take care of her if she go to the half day school.

As far as I know, 牧愛堂 is a half day school only. Any other full time school recommand?

You live in Lantau!!!   I think you need to consider the travel time.  You need to check if the school will arrange school bus service to Lantau.  It will take more than an hour to travel to school.  Your kid will feel exhausted and affect her learning motive.

Do you live in Tung Chung?  Do you consider kindergartens there?

YSmon,
Well, I'm not live in Tung Chung. Because, both my husband & me work in Kowloon side. So, for easy way to take care of her, we are force to choose the school near by our working place.
Yes, I agree with your opinion, this is too far away for my kid and the travel time is more or less than 1-1/2 hours. That why, I'm also afraid this is one of the reason that we will fail to admit this school.
Actually, I'm consider the school in Central also but I don't think I can pick her back before 6:00pm, so I give up.

For the time being, I really hope 聖三一 will admit my kid as I think they will provide a happier education envoirment to her.  

Anyway, thank you for your kind concerning. I will let you know what the result of our interview.
