Hi,
Even my son just got into K1 at ESF Kindergarten, I have to gather info about primary already!

As I live in Discovery Bay, most people would recommend DC as it's just 10 mins walk from home. However, I heard that Bradbury School is great in terms of teachers' quality and experience and everything.

Those moms with kids studying at Bradbury, please give some comments on the school policy and anything I need to know before making a decision for application.

I think you should apply both (or even RC) if you are not a Cat. 1 applicant and you do not have silblings in DC or ESF schools.
Don't save those tiny application fee or u will regret.
Also, Children may get mad on the day of interview (I met quite a no. of cases last year!). Applying more schools mean more options to choose.

Do you know DC is proposing Non-refundable Building Fund (NBF) from Aug 2012? That means the parents need to share the cost of the fabulous campus.

So far, I like Bradbury so much, teachers are great, all
the settings are perfect. My daughter loves the school
and lots of her classmates are living in DB, they have
school bus directly from DB and take only 45mins to the school (providing no traffic incidents)

Um....may be, she just needs some comments on both schools, so that she can have a clear picture. Coz even school visits can't provide any real factor to her. And yes, no one can choose for her and she is also trying to choose by herself.

I copy this statement from Discovery College website:

"If you are applying for primary placement, the College stronglyrecommends that you (a) consider a Nomination Rights, and/or (b) applyto other schools. The primary section of the school is over-subscribedwith long waiting lists at each year level from Year 1 to Year 6."

However, after reading some other topics related to Esf primary (students currently attending Esf Kinder don't even have a chance for interview), I need to explore other international schools!

Are you in ESF hillside? if so, the situation should not be as bad as you think, but of course you need to apply some other schools as back up.

DC does not categorize students, but they have very few places. Bradbury is hard to get in if your kid is in Cat 2. How about Discovery bay international school? KCIS?
