我都有買教材俾我個女(14個月大), 但我覺得教材係輔助, 最緊要係家長有時間同耐性同BB玩. 只係播DVD俾BB睇, 係冇用的.
其實除咗DWE外, 坊間仲有好多教材, 平貴都有. 圖書係為咗吸引小朋友閱讀, 幫助培養佢地閱讀興趣. 唔洗一定好貴嘅, 我見有D廿幾蚊一本都好靚. 字咭喺吉X島都有, 十幾蚊幾十張, 當然可以自制, 有一個媽媽提供呢個網站參考, 我覺得幾好

I am also using YBCR. It's so much cheaper than DWE. I also do not buy the idea of flashcard, though I have 1 set from a lucky draw.

唔係一定要買~ 就算買都係要買到咁貴!
我建議你自己睇吓glenn doman嘅書, 睇吓啱唔啱你, 然後自製字card / 買

不過呢套理論對我唔work~

反而平平地 ($500, 3年前) 買嘅YBCR就真係work!

ybcr係有實物影像+字+聲音, video中會再加埋少量歌仔 (你search吓, 應該揾到demo video睇) 然後大人得閒又讀吓字card咁, 我個仔8mth開始睇, 未識叫mama已經見到"giraffe"個字講 "字娃f" (bb音, ~13mth)
之後一路對文字好有興趣, ABC好快識哂, 我地買咗嘅生字書好快學識..
加上大部份時間對住工人, 歲半可以用英文溝通.. 然後我地開始教中文.. (溝通+認字)
一路對文字好敏感.. e+未夠3歲, 成日要daddy教佢認日文!

我都無買咩貴教材比bb, 有套二手You Baby Can Read.

另外買左東西既Phonics Kids.

前幾日係bb展買左一套"力豆力豆"初階, 如果ok, 先會買中階同高階, 算係貴少少, 有成80幾本書同埋教具, CD, 係for小朋友創造同認知能力.

不過佢送左套千幾蚊既flash card and pen reader, 都ok啦!

Disney is too expensive and I don't like to use DVD to teach English. I bought books with CD so that my child can listen to native English. There are lots of English books with CD you can find in the Page One and you can order online. In addition, I borrow books from public library.

Instead of spending the money on expensive Disney material, I use the money to send him to an international school, I figure out one year tuition fee is cheaper than buying Disney. It turns out now English is his first language and his reading skill has reached to grade 1 even though he has just turned 3 years old. I feel that the Disney is a bit simple for him now. Besides to prepare the reading materials, I feel it is important to spend time to read books to your children when they are young. I spent lots and lots of time to read to him.

我個仔仲好細
我無買.亦打算買好貴的教材
我本身有套美國親人送的YBCR
同買左好多英文圖書
我同另一個媽咪一樣
鍾意D有CD的英文書
咁樣BB可以學到正中一D的英文
同自己要花時間陪BB讀書
唔好諗住就咁開碟/DVD俾佢自己聽/睇

I just wonder if there is similar Chinese teaching aids ? Can some moms share what Chinese tools are they using ?

after reading YBCR, we tried to introduce Chinese to my boy... simply by some picture/word cards. After a while.. we used基礎漢字500. you can find this sets of books in any bigger bookstore. Reading story books can also help too!

BB由6個月開始睇UBCR, 依家1歲, 已經識咗9成既圖. 除咗有啲.. reach呀 / 嗰啲未識. 身體 / 生果 / 動物呀. 都識晒啦. 唔睇圖, 同佢講, 佢都表達嗰啲係咩黎. 唔知係咪菲傭湊既關係, 一句句字佢都會聽得明. 例如: pass xxx to me. 佢都識會"遞"嗰樣野比我.
