請問大家,一個K3小孩子的英語能力應該有幾多?

可以怎樣測試小孩子的英語程度?

理論上A,B,C唔識都得!

小学六年級好象要求識千幾英文字。我也見過有K3学生拿起普通的英文書讀得頭頭是道,我估佢最少識千幾字。

Yes, STARTERS results will be a good reference for K2-K3 kids.  Some K3 children even took MOVERS and got good scores (>13 shields).

of course, differnt kids have different backgrounds e.g. int'l kindergarten, native maid ....

another test is Trinity Initial.  It is an oral test.

Most K3 students took Movers at British Council for their P1 admission interview and others.  I guess this is a good guideline to all school teachers.. also.. I heard .. some local primary schools even ask their students to take the test individually.. as you can see, they value these certificates..

My child is not on KTS 2nd interview list, even he has 15 shields in Starter.  His presentation skill is not good, while very good in reading and writing.

I am sure if you want something for the interview, you need (at least) to proof that your child can read & write English.  Speaking is another one but KTS interview is not in English at all.  They use Cantonese for interview.  My daughter had been to KTS for interview and she failed in her interview last year.  At the end, there were no school accepting her for P1 as she has very poor presentation in Cantonese.  We speak mostly English at home.  I guess this may be the reason why.. some schools would prefer you have a good Cantonese (at least the grammer is fine) then talk about other languages.  

So, depending what you want to achieve here and what is your objective?  Going to P1 interview, you need to have a balance education to show to the school that you have invested in...

A platform how you will develop a successful child or train him/her up to.. A PLATFORM with resources is the key..
