Both St.Catherine and LH are good schools which have native speaker teachers. But I can fee LH's principal Ms Lee Chung Ping has the passion of education and encourge parents to have a good communication with school; St. Catherine is famous on English, if you target on CCKG and other famous primary, this school has more experience. It may be the stepping stone for CCKG.
However, if both school fee are almost the same, what you have to consider is the environment, the happiness you imagine, the pupils outside performance, etc.
Large school means more pupils is another concern. Have you contact any teachers? Any friends children who are studying there? What is true is what you see, it is very difficult to tell, because it seldom has a parent with two kids studying these two school.
Did you think about the distance to school for the your kids?
It may be very tired if it takes time on transportation.
To be honest, even though you heard many ppls got a good allocation graduated from St.Catherine, it depends on the interview performance. One of my colleagues' girl got the place in DGJS, graduated from St.Catherine, however after she told me how many things her girls learned from 2 years old, I am scared. Chinese Painting(join competition got champion, swimming, fencing(DGJS sport), piano, violin, maths, chinese tutorials at home .etc. It is more than that...
My friend told me she is very busy with her two girls, one in ESF, and the other one now in DGJS.
Can you ask yourself whether you can bear the challenge?
School is a platform, most important is you and home environment, how do you teach your girl/boy.
This is my opinion.I hope it is really helpful for you. |
