I have been on waiting list to place my little ones at this school for their toddler program. Anyone familiar with this school? Any good or bad? My impression so far has been quite good but it's a very very new school so not sure if they have good experience to run a school. Any comments would be great! Thank you!

My girl has been with the toddler programme for several months now.  It is a good school if you really like the Montessori teaching method.

But in the past couple of months, they have accepted too many kids.  It is now 10-12 kids in one class (+ the same number of adults!).  It was only 6-8 when my girl first joined.

After attending for such a long time, I found that this teaching method was not really that suitable for my girl.  They stress "independence"  but my girl loves to play with other kids, which is not encourage in this school.

Anyway, around half of the class will leave this school soon, either going to nursery or K1 in the coming academic year.  There will be places for your twins very soon.

Oh, by the way, how old is your twins?

Dear Pauljr
Thank you so much for your insight. They called us last week and told us we can start in July. But with the Swine Flu going on, we'll wait until August/ Sept. We also got accepted by International Montessori School (Wanchai). So we can't decide which school. My twins are 17 months old so next month, they can start their program technically. One is quite independent so I think she'll do well. The other requires more attention, so we thought Montesorri might be good to train her independence. In any case, they are "Big girls" so can't enter regular HK nurseries yet. So going to Montesorri will give them something to do rather than sitting home with the helpers.

Due to the H1N1 issue, i think you need to double check the class ratio first. It is more dangerous to have over 20 people in the class. Well, there is another playgroup in Causeway Bay (Little Montessorian) also doing Montessori Method and it is quite good for young age children. Their ratio is 1:6 each class, and teacher will guide the children to work until she think the child is ready to do the separation. My daughter learnt a lot from there especially the manner part. you can check it out and see if they have vacancy.

hiya...Montessori School is fine..but my baby princess left there...I did find an english playgroup for her also at Tin Hau ~"Bambini Republic" , maximium 6 babies a class..be honest, it is really good for babies learning oral english.. they have free trial lesson, try it..
