HKUGA分享

短短兩星期的適應期剛完結，囡囡真正成為一個小學生，學校生活是否愉快，是需要老師 / 家長的配合和小朋友慢慢地適應。以下分享我個人感覺，希望没有hard sell 成份。
閱讀 – 學校主張每個小朋友多閱讀課外書，每星期早上安排約15分鍾時間為閱讀課程。
功課 – 為了配合多閱讀的理念，功課比幼稚園還要小。
壓力 – 由P.1至P6都是同一班同學，没有精英班，小朋友在没有壓力下成長。
家長 – 學校分別在七月和八月開辨”小一新生家長會”和”迎生會”，使家長更了解學校理念。
多元智能 – 每天早上為主要料目，下午為多元智能課程(不收費)。如跆拳、話劇、舞蹈、音樂 (包括小提琴)、社區服務等。
校車 – 本人住在新界東，但保母車特別安排停在本人住的屋苑接一位學主。

請問你住那一區,每天保母車上車和小朋友回家時間幾點,學校上課時間是什麽.有那些subject 是英文上,那些subject 是中文 / 普通話上,一班有幾多人.

What's the time for the school bus to fetch your kid every morning? How long does it need to take from N.T. east to HKUGA?

HKUGA中文名為"港大同學會小學"，住於香港柴灣。此校有四科主科；中、英、數和常識。中文以普通話和粵語教授、英文以全英語教授、而數學、常識和其它多元智能課程都以粵語教授。每班約30-35人。

星期一至四上學時間早上8:15AM - 3:15PM；星期五8:15AM- 2:00PM。保母車早上於6:45AM開出包括馬鞍山、將軍澳新都城、青衣和香港仔等。囡囡每天約4:20PM到達家門；因為我們差不多是尾站。

補充：
學費 - 每月$1,500.00
午餐 - 每日$15.00

入學試 - 家長不需要面試，考生約10人一個課室，透過遊戲和畫畫考學生創意、合群和了解能力等

所謂見家長是約200人在禮堂；校長老師講解學校的理念；而且約有15分鍾給家長問問題，但不需要註明學生的姓名。去年時間緊迫，祇有幾位(不超過10位)家長可問問題。學生考試约45 - 60分鐘

However, what i heard from this year's seminar that parents will be interviewed / met separately so that they can get to know more what WE think about the school concept and also let us have a channel to ask more questions. They will interview all parents in 2 dates...i cannot recall the proper dates..but remember they fall in the week of 4th and 11th. They will send us a letter to confirm.

除書報費外，暫未有其它收費。但根據梁校長在去年介紹是没有其它收費的。校車是收費視乎你所住的區域。
當學校收到申請後，便會書面通知考試日期。去年在十一月底前書面通知是否被取錄。在考試當日囡囡非常開心，她說在課室内祇有畫畫和遊戲，没有問其它問題。

Hi, da

I heard that parents of children who study in HKUGA do need to devote a lot of time in helping children to finish an assignment or projects. E.g. school will ask the students to go to certain drama, play or concert and come back with an assignment. Is it true? What would you comment if the parents are really busy at work (out early in the morning and back late in the evening)? Would you suggest them to reconsider the application? Or it is not really that demanding?

據我所知，以往有一些家長曾經有這些問題，但HKUGA的好處是很接受家長的反映，常有家長會，及很鼓勵家長當家筆義工(當然是自願性質)，所以之後這些問題，已經沒有了，現在強調所有功課無需家長參與。

Hello da,

Thanks for your sharing. Have your ever heard that the turnover rate of the teachers are very high in HKUGA? Besides, someone also told me that HKUGA will have test or exam like traditional school. It is beacuse of parents' pressure. Parents do not know how much their kids have learned.
BTW, I also like this school very much.
Pls advise.
