My son 今年9月讀Beacon Hill School P.1C 班。
希望能認識下其他家長，分享感受。
I'm a working mom, I will go school very seldom so I want to see any parents here?

我見妳都留言左好多日都冇人回應, 我估在BK問ESF的人好多, 但讀的人少掛?

我好耐之前都有問過同樣的問題都是冇人回應, 不如我地keep住大家交流下意見啦, 睇下他們的進度

我個女都會9月入ESF(QuarryBay School). 她99年11月尾birthday的, 是細女, 我好担心她唔識handle食lunch

妳會pack什麼? 上2星期去orientation, 我女好開心, 睇來她好鐘意間學校

Actually I know both of you in BK !

So glad that both of your kids are accepted by ESF. If you remember, I will also enrol my son to ESF (Beacon Hill School) this year, hope it will be successful lar, cos' I do not have any back up.

So, MomMom, how's your feeling now ? Are you happpy or worried ?

好開心收到你的回覆，雖然你囡囡唔你讀BeaconHill但我相信個situation差唔多，交流下都好。
Lunch, 可以係飯，麵及三文治等。我個仔99年10月出細，都算細仔，他可以自己食飯，我唔係好担心。我住Kowloon Tong, 係沙田做嘢。

我都覺得BeaconHill比較難入，Catchment好大，青衣都入呢區，所以ESF青衣個間kinder好多人考BeaconHill，上次個orientation, 我見好多小朋友着住ESF Kinder校服，我個仔個班，我見到起碼5-6個係ESF Kinder的，佢地的家長好熟落。我個仔第一輪都無得Interview，要等到3月先有得Interview.
Mandy, 你囝囝讀邊間Kinder?

I used to think that BHS is easier than KJS, I don't know that BHS's catchment area is so big. I start to worry...
But, MomMom, I thought it was you telling me that ICS is also good ? I'd applied already.

Definitely no.  KJS has 5 class total 150seats while Beacon Hill has 3 class total 90seats only.  Yes, ICS is a good school.  Which grade you applied for your kid?  K3?  My boy still saying that he wants back to ICS in Aug.

Oh, really ? Your son loves ICS so much ? Then why you are so determined to switch to BHS ? I remember you said it's becos' it's nearer to your house, but, any other reasons ?

I'd applied for Grade 1 (i.e. when he is 6 years old). Cos' I just treat it as a back-up in case he can't get in BHS. Or, I'll consider enrol him into ICS K.3 if he's not accepted by BHS next year (when he will be K.2)

It might be a shame that I'm still not very confident in ICS (cos' I haven't heard about it before, and none of my friends have their kid studying there). BHS/ESF is more 'guaranteed' becos' of their long history and popularity. Although I know it doesn't necessarily mean it's good/better. But you know, traditional mentality of HK parents...

妳打算買what kind of mug (thermos?) 比妳個仔pack rice and/or noodles?

暫時我只買左個 lock and lock 盒用來pack sandwiches, 分左2格, 可以1格放sandwich, 1格放fruits

多謝你回覆(雖然我係離題). 我仔仔其實只係得16個月大, 但係如果報ESF(Tsing Yi), 下年2月佢就要報, 我而家陀緊第2胎, 預產期係出年二月, 所以需要而家計劃定.

尤其係我有個同事個女讀梗Shatin Junior, 佢提我揀0左國際學校條路就要繼續行落去. 我老公有個同事個女都係讀Shatin Junior, 我0地兩個同事都話個女讀得好開心, 覺得好好. 另外, 我0地想第日兩個小朋友都讀得開心d, 等佢0地同我0地都少d壓力, 咁成個家庭都開心d. 但係老公又唔捨得佢0地將來要去外國讀書. 你0地又基於咩原因揀國際學校呢? 分享0下吖!

請問 ICS全名係咩? 其實KJS同BHS比較, 除0左學額0既分別, 兩間0既catchment area比較, 邊間大d呢, 仲有教學方面, 邊間好d呢. 我淨係知兩間都係升KG5.

The reason of changing to BHS is
1)  the location
2)  My boy can study P.1 while in ICS is K2

I remember your son is now studying in Anfield.  Touchwood, if your son not accepted by BHS, you will study in Anfield for K3 and then switch to ICS for Grade 1?

Hi IngridMaMa,

My daughter has two Thermos hot pot.  I will use either one to prepare lunch for him.  I think it is better to buy a normal hot pot for your kid so that he can bring rice or noodles instead of sandwiches only.

Yes, that's my contingency plan. It's the good thing about ESF too. And, Anfield do have this 'cope with' policy i.e. during K.3, you can leave the school anytime, no need for 2 months notice.

From another forum of BK, I heard another int'l school called CAIS, sounds also quite good. Have you heard about it ?

You can visit www.classmateasia.com for all Int'l school in HK.

You can find CAIS there too.  Personally, I like ICS more than CAIS.

Phoneix has primary.

Ruby,

It's located in Cheung Sha Wan now but will be moved to Ma On Shan in 2006. The students' age is 5-18 years old. The new school will be built beside Vista Paradisco(聽濤雅苑). Even if you apply for BHS, you can also apply for Pheonix simultaneously because it is a private independent school under ESF.

CAIS is an Christian Int'l school, (Canadian basis).  They start with K3 until Secondary.  They located in Kowloon City.  The school campus quite small and old.  I have visitied their campus before.  A BK mom told me this is a good school also.

Besides ICS & ESF, I did not apply any other Int'l school for my son.
